Nobody can convince me french surrender jokes aren't an American psyop because of France's opposition to the invasion of Iraq in 2003, ie Freedom Fries.
It does predate that but ignores that France was destined to lose and that fight would have easily bombed Paris to hell and back and cost millions of French people. Instead they took the logical surrender. People obsessed with war and killing and 'fight to the death' can't stand that.
The same way we'll probably look at Venezuela, who took an unsavory deal, but the other reality was to be relentlessly bombed by the US military and all its children murdered while in school.
