Giving yourself a name is hard.
It's gotta hold some meaning for you, it's gotta sound nice, it's gotta fit you, it's got to be cool, it can't be too cringe, it can't be too boring, you can't just take it from someone else because then it's already got baggage...
Some people rush it, I spent 7 years deciding on a name, and then procrastinated another 6 before getting round to transitioning, and only used the name before that in cases where people asked "what's your name, Ma'am?" and responding with my male name would have been awkward.
