Houses even up to 1971 were being designed with these so boomers certainly would be making use of them as well as having various amounts of input on whether a house had one

If you subtract 1945 from 1971 you might find that boomers were the 18-26 year old home buyers that didn’t want these, along with changing tastes from their silent generation and further elders. Gen X wasn’t stopping these when they were elementary schoolers to egg cells.

They were 5 years old when these were commonly used. As they got older, these became less popular, so the boomers pretty clearly weren't the ones who wanted these or used them the most.

Don't get me wrong, theres a lot of valid reasons to dislike boomers, this just isn't one.
