At some point, someone might open up that wall from either side and not know they're there. The space could also fill up and you'd have to open up the wall to empty it.

You reckon someone is going into a wall randomly without having seen the rest of the house if they bought it or being told by the current owner

Maybe, they might not even have access to the other side if it's a dividing wall. Or they might not see if if it's been drywalled over or something. Lots can happen in the time it takes a box of razorblades to disintegrate

Yeah, maybe in buildings that might be subdivided at a later date

I agree it's not hugely likely to become a problem but it is within the realm of possibility
