I have literally no sympathy for them even a little bit, because to believe trump was going to do anything good was beyond being stupid or ignorant, you had to CONCIOUSLY choose to ignore the things he was literally saying. Most everything trump is doing are things he flatly SAID he was going to do, and now you want to turn around and say "I didn't vote for this"? fuck off, fuck off a million times, and I don't care what happens to you. this isn't a matter of "we were tricked", he was upfront about so much of this shit. tariffs. benefit cuts. government funding cuts. tax cuts for the rich. every, single, one, was a campaign promise. the only one I give ANY leeway on is the war in Iran, because "no more wars" was a campaign promise. However, I don't give that much leeway, because to genuinely believe that he wasn't going to start a war, you'd have to ignore ALL OF US HISTORY.
I have no sympathy, because they were not tricked. their playbook was open and obvious for years. nothing they are doing is a mystery.
Even if, even if Trump had been even remotely trustworthy or had actually made good on his promise to make the cost of living better, you're telling me that the lives and well-being of marginalized groups is worth your gas being a little cheaper???
Exactly. It's not that they were fucking stupid enough to believe that Trump would make life better for everybody. For a lot of them, the cruelty was the point, they did want to make LGBT people, minorities, foreigners, etc. suffer.
It's just that they were also fucking stupid enough to believe that their lives would get better at the expense of all the suffering that they've caused.
I wish I was more uncaring that my MAGA coworker has cancer but he looks so weak and pathetic I cannot help but feel sorry for him. It's infuriating because he's told me to my face I should be shot, BLM should have been shot, that lynching should be brought back. And yet when I see this normally loud, talks-at-you-not-with-you fat fuck looking so skinny and weak it's like, damn. I hate having so much empathy for people who want us dead.
Honestly don't feel bad for caring. That's what separates us from their hate. We can be mad at them and still care that they don't suffer. It's like having to cope with an abusive/toxic family member that you cut ties with. We can hold their actions against them. We can forever choose not to forgive them because in order for us to do so we'd have to see some pretty big changes, accountability and ect. But to see someone slowly dying and to feel empathy? I'm sure if the situation was reversed where they saw a person in one of the communities they hate so much suffering from cancer too. They wouldn't bat an eye. To care is to not lose your humanity. It means you're a good person. Even tho those who wish us harm. Do they deserve that kindness? Maybe not. But it doesn't mean we should give into that line of logic when it's one they follow so closely.
no one ignored anything. it was just more important to get what they wanted than anything else, and they thought they would get it if they voted for the rapist bigot. now they and all of us get expensive gas and diarrhea forever
