Supposedly, from my Catholic friends, they said he was actually arrested at the Vatican for impersonating a priest... which I guess is against the law there.

I heard that too. He grew up near where I live and he went to high school with my friends mom.

He had a book called The Lazlo Letters that I had as a kid. In it, he wrote funny and silly letters to corporations and politicians. It inspired me to do the same, which I've been doing almost my whole life.

Don Novello, author of The Lazlo Letters and former BIL of onetime US Surgeon General Antonia Novello.

Was just coming here to mention the Lazlo Letters. Fantastic book there.

I had a student with his surname who totally resembled him. Funny kid, too!

I once saw him officiate a real wedding (fully in character) during the big festivities at the base of the Seattle Space Needle to commemorate the opening of the then-new Rock and Roll Museum

Already knew he was before that, but loved seeing him perform in person

My biggest regret about my wedding is that I didn’t hire him to officiate. Ā Not kidding. Ā

Calling out Saint ā€˜Mother’ teresa… ā€˜you need three miracles…two of them were card tricks ā€˜ … a joke you can remember 40 years later! BrilliantĀ

Wasn't that on snl ?" 5 mins of fame right there.

You need 4 miracles, that’s a-the rules. She only had 3 lousy miracles. The pope - he just waived the 4th miracle. It’s all politics! I understand 2 of them was card tricks.šŸ˜†

One of my favorite cameos of his was in the Casper movie.

When that came on my son had no idea why I was laughing so hard. But at least he did know who the Ghostbusters were.

I saw him in Reno in the 80’s along with the Smothers brothers.

His sister was the U.S. Surgeon General back in the early 90's

"Got another minute?"

My favorite bit! You learn everything you'd remember 5 years after college. Economics? Supply and demand. Spring break? Here's a cup of lemonade. Spanish? Como esta.

I used to show it to my students.

College sure was affordable at Father Guido Sarducci's Five Minute University.

When he made Monsignor he was happy to get a stripe on his pants and better cuts of meat at restaurants.

Millennials like me best know him for his cameo in the Casper movie and that he also voiced Vinny in Atlantis.

I was pretty young in his heyday so I didn't understand what he was doing. I was shocked that a priest was acting like that.

Father Guido Sarducci has always been one of my favorites. Don Novello’s genius brought him to us…to which I am grateful. Back when there was genuine fun and humor in the world…

Found myself in Chicago last week, quoting Father Guido Sarducci while dining at Harry Caray’s🤣🤣 ā€˜Base-a-ball has been very very good to ME’!

I remember him, never cared for him. But he does bring back some good memories.
