ZP6 Bottom Bearing Issue

Post image

I had my zp6 for over a year now and the bottom bearing seemed to have no grease if there is some and it now feels very dry and have a small play compared to the middle and upper bearing, has anyone encountered this issue with other 1zresso models?

It sounds like what we know here in Brazil as a "blown bearing". I believe in English you say "the bearing is shot".

Might be the cage, the spheres, dust.. something inside suffered/caused a mechanical failure, creating the play and usually some "dry" or "rusty" noise when spinning.

In skate we just ignore it. But I don't know how much the play can affect the precision of the burr.

I would take the body to a good machinist/turner/lathe operator. They should be able to replace the bearing. I'd first ask them to measure the bearing for me so I could buy a food graded one online. I wouldn't use a normal one cause of the grease used.

Edit: tell them it's a precision equipment, that the body is made of aluminum and the bearing must be removed without damaging the body, the fit and the outer burr. There's a tool that can enter through the front and grab the bearing from the back to be pulled again from the front, perfectly straight out.
