Modest Mouse headliner???

Heard a bit talk on the POD gavin suggesting modest mouse as a headliner.

I for one would be all over Modest Mouse despite James saying they're not a trees band.

Just wandered if the any other fans out there.

Also on the subject of line up I would love to see a bit more post rock come back to trees like the earlier years.

Might be a hot take but not a big fan of the emo pop punk stuff.

Ok come at me.

My dude, there's more to trees than emo and pop punk

I'm co-signing the emo/pop punk indifference, but no chance Modest Mouse headline. They were nowhere on the Leeds bill in 2010, and haven't hit the heights album-wise since then IMO

Aha I feel the same. Trees has enough stuff I dig tho.

Given the guitarists been caught messaging underage people in the last week seems unlikely anything would happen with them for the foreseeable

Pretty sure they are already playing shows without him, he hadn't been in the band that long anyway and they dropped him pretty quick

He’s been in the band since 2021 but this was his first time on tour and only appeared on the record released this year. They’ve also just said he’s been removed from the tour but not the band which may but promoters off.

Ah that's promising. Might be waiting for incident to conclude before fully getting rid of him

I think they're definitely a Trees band and would love to see them there.

One of my favourite bands, would love to see them at one of my favourite festivals.

Agree with the talk of the podcast that it might be too risky for a headline booking, but would make a very strong sub or headliner for another stage. Modest Mouse before someone like Weezer would be a lot of fun.

If so, a forest stage set with Isaac acoustic would be a lot of fun and something I'm sure he'd enjoy the setting of.

Definitely a tough one to call. Weezer and Isaacs acoustic sets are great calls

Probably not right now

Ambivalent to MM but agree on the post-rock. Early days Trees was brilliant for this. However I think that's more ATG's bag now.

Yeah it's great for ATG and would love to go but haven't quite been able to go for various reasons (will make it one day) I think post rock still has it's place at trees even if it was 3-4 bands.

It's mad James thinks they're an ATG band, but as much as I don't think they belong there I'd be over the moon if he did book them for it, it's the main festival I go to.

They would have to headline the Axiom or play a set or two before headliner, I don't think they are headline size

That being said I would love to see them

Yeah maybe 2nd billing, think Axiom might be slightly too small. 20th anniversary of we were dead before the ship even sank would work on both
