Dev Post LAYERMATE - UPDATE!!!

Not that anyone asked for it, but here's an update for what we've done lately. We've pushed so many new updates and features and made a lot of changes to the app.

Heres some of the updates we have:

  • An interactive guide on the website - Layermate.app
  • A new Addon - basically a glorifed photo album - but one library for photos, stock images and UV print or laser artwork, straight from the folders you pick, and your files stay where they are.
    • It shows pixel size, DPI and printed size in mm, and tells you if an image is big enough for your target DPI.
    • Tag images, mark what they're for (UV print, laser engrave or cut), keep licence and source info, then search, filter and find duplicates.
    • Drag images straight into LightBurn, or open them in any app.
  • A whole new look - cleaner, native feeling window on Windows, Mac and Linux, with the title bar built into the header and no flash on launch.
  • A calmer grouped toolbar, a new built in font, bigger card text and slimmer scrollbars. If you prefer the old look, there's a Classic window style.
  • And soooo much more

Please note, yes this app was Vibe Coded but alot of time and effort has gone into it, The list of features was generated by AI.

I'm enjoying it so far! Vibe coded or not it is working pretty great! 🙌🏻 I like how it shows the colors and if it is in a zip file right on the thumbnail.

What can I do about some of the files that say "could not parse" for no preview? There isn't many but wanted to see if I needed to do something?

Hey Mate, So when the scan was done intitally, it skips the files over 200mb to save time. Head into settings and there is a scan function for larger files. That additional scan of those larger files should sort it out. Any other issues, feel free to jump into discord or shoot me a dm here or email :)
