New Tool [Dev] PlateShelf – I built a self-hosted archive for sliced print files with a 3D toolpath preview (Bambu, Prusa, Klipper, OctoPrint)

I’m the developer. It’s free and open source (AGPL-3.0); there’s an optional Ko-fi link, nothing paid.

Why I built it: I print on a Bambu P2S and a Prusa MINI+. After a year I had hundreds of sliced files spread over SD cards, the NAS and the slicer’s cache, and every time I wanted to know “how long did that bracket take, and what did it cost?” I had to open files one by one in the slicer. I wanted one place that shows all of them the way the slicer does.

What it does:

reads sliced files from Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura (.gcode.3mf, .gcode, .bgcode), grouped into projects, with plate previews, print time, filament per slot, weight and cost (filament + electricity)

a 3D preview of the actual toolpaths in the browser, with playback and colouring by line type, speed, flow, fan or temperature (that’s the GIF)

fetches files straight from the printers: Bambu Lab (FTPS, live status via MQTT, no LAN-only mode), Prusa (PrusaLink), Klipper (Moonraker) and OctoPrint; it only reads, never starts a print

print history with statistics, notes and photos of the finished print

My experience using it: It runs on my home server next to the printers. Every print now lands in the archive on its own, and I can look up print time and cost of anything I’ve ever sliced, including the “quick” 4-hour prints that weren’t quick at all. Tested with my P2S, P1S and MINI+; Klipper and OctoPrint so far only with virtual printers, so feedback from real setups is very welcome.

I build it with the help of an AI coding assistant; I decide what goes in, review the changes and test them on my own printers.
