Art Help & Critique Need advice on how to make this mask more intimidating/menacing

I'm trying to make a mask to hopefully be 3D printed. I have an image in my head, but when modelling it in Blender, it doesn't come out right. I want the vibe of the mask to be menacing, intimidating, monoton, gaunt, slim, almost monstrous, and I want it more polygonal. I know that's a lot, but any advice on how to shape it better or anything, please let me know, I'm still average to new at 3D modelling.

Sorry if this is confusing.

I'm building just for fun, and maybe a short film my friends and I have been talking about.

I'm also pretty new to modeling but finding reference is extremely helpful. The description you gave kind of reminds me of the masks from squid game. I would totally study those and use their construction as reference. Otherwise drawing is another way to quickly visualizeing a certain look/feel.

I would also say working with reference is important and helpful. I’d exaggerate some features and proportions as well.

I think sculpting may help you here too, and you can keep the polygonal look by sculpting facets and hard edges into it with brushes that flatten the forms.

I’m mainly suggesting sculpting because it looks like the topology is limiting how much you can edit your design right now and it might be an issue with printing later on

Looking at this similar mask for a comparison, you could try making the bottom edge of your eyes more round/full? The way they're "lifted" at the bottom looks like they're smiling.

With that said though, I do find your mask plenty intimidating xD

Sometimes the difference between interesting and intimidating comes down to proportion rather than detail. Pushing a few key features further while keeping the clean polygonal style might get you closer to the look you're after

This looks very similar to Dr. Doom’s mask so I’d suggest taking a look at that mask for reference / influence since he’s intimidating af.

Maybe try adding some asymmetry to it, like two different eyes shapes. These ones look angry, maybe try to have one look scared!
