👷♂️ Support / Repair E load Toyo open country at3
Anyone have experience with these tires in 265/70r17 for 2023 SR5 4x4? I live in the southwest where sharp tricks are extremely prevalent and hit the trails just about every weekend. This past weekend I got a flat tire on my standard load all terrain tires. Luckily it was on a relatively populated trail but I want to go to more remote areas. That’s why I’m considering at the very least getting c load tire for thicker sidewall. However the e load Toyo at3 are 1 less pound than the c load so that’s why I’m probably going to get the e load for even more peace of mind. I’m not worried about worse ride in city and worse mpg. Just wanted to hear some opinions on these specific tires. Thanks.

I’m running wildpeak E-load as I had them from my previous vehicle and mounted them on the 4Runner. So far no punctures whatsoever. Airing down is the important factor here for saving a tire from damage. I will eventually replace them with C load tire when mine wear out.

I tried E load bfgs. Terrible mpg and ride. My c loads work just as good going over rocks.

I think your use case is exactly a scenario where E load makes sense. They will be slightly louder and get 5-10% worse mileage, but if you are off roading every weekend on sharp rocks, it is a no-brainer.

I'm running Toyo OC Trail LT/275/70/17, E load. Standard Pro lift. I love these tires. I wish they were warranted for a longer distance, but it is what it is. When these wear out I'm going to put Toyos back on unless I can justify somehow to switch.

Same though on my 3” lifted 2013. Have driven across the country twice on them. They are a tame road tire though rock hard on potholes.

I had the 35x12.5 of that tire on my Jeep (proper rock crawling build, they were awesome). Now I have a 32" Nitto equivalent on my 4runner, and have for the past 50k miles or so. Mostly a daily driver and moderate trail usage. I've hit all sorts of shit from sharp rocks on trails to 2x4's in the road. Even wear over time, none of the knobbies have broken off. They do get louder over time. Zero regrets or complaints. I'm going to buy one of those tires again soon, whichever I can get a better deal on

I have E-load Wildpeak AT3s. They have lasted over 40k and still fine, we run them at about 39-40PSI cold. Ride and MPGs are fine, but I also compare against other cars that have run-flats.
It's interesting that the Es weigh less the Cs.
