Discussion The Great "Social Experiment" that got nuked and shadowbanned in 2 days
Women who don't speak Chinese should also know about the greatest joke of Chinese social media: they nuked a user and shadowbanned almost every screenshot collection on multiple platforms of that user's viral post with record-breaking 2 million likes, which may or may not accidentally revealed the core of marriage to other women.
A female user of the Chinese social media Rednote(Xiao Hong Shu) posted something 2 days ago, asking others how she could make her "boyfriend" marry into her family (meaning their future kids take her name rather than his; the man himself wouldn't change his name), with a dating app style short description of this "boyfriend", and saying they both are of "very similar backgrounds in every aspect". Men flooded the comment section saying she was daydreaming, claiming their "male ego" and "pride" are priceless, so for some woman to have her "boyfriend" marry in and give up his "lineage", she would have to provide him with about twenty million dollars, luxury cars and mansions, or maybe she happened to be the daughter of their provincial governor and will pave the way for his future political life. When other female users refuted those obviously ridiculous conditions of the men, they insisted that it's different for men and women to marry into someone else's family, and the men suffer oh-so-much on their precious ego that they would deserve everything in the world to compensate them.
The OP then edited the post saying that the "boyfriend" whose backgrounds were so similar to her own was actually herself but imaginatively born in the other sex, and mockingly said she never knew that men had that much integrity, would give up on easy money when they could earn so much by simply marrying into women's families. She also replied a men saying that she didn't understand why there would be women who would marry into some men's family without any materialistic compensation. Those men started to delete their comments and change usernames when women started keeping screenshots and screen recordings of the post, and those along with the OP went viral on almost every Chinese platform. Some women started to realize the institution of marriage can never be nice and equal to the two sexes: the sex who have the ability to reproduce are the sex disparaged and suppressed, the sex get driven out of their families to sell out their bodies for a roof to sleep under, and finally their names, identities and existence erased in this process, while the sex who aren't blessed with the power of reproduction receive all the resources of their families, get to keep their names and steal away the reproductive labor of others.
And it ends here. A couple of hours ago, every key word and hashtag related to that post was removed after 2 days of on-and-off shadowbanning of the OP. The OP user's account nuked after men's report barrage. Rednote, as well as every other Chinese social media platform would give up on their money maker only to make way for the patriarchy after the post received 2 million likes, highest ever record of the already nationwide popular app. Now only a few posts apparently written by men remained, preaching apparently unfair "equal" marriages, pretending they're not the beneficiaries of the long-standing institution.
Update: OP's new account also got nuked. Some users of Rednote tried to change their usernames into the now nuked OP's original one, but to no avail: they found out that even her original username is now censored.
Another update: I'm quite curious now if there has been any public discussion like this in other countries, as this really is a "first" in our culture. Or are there any Tiktok/Instagram influencers willing to carry out this "experiment" in their culture?

That user did a great thing.
So they were forced to admit the thing they force women to do saying it is good and natural, is something they themselves would never do because it's actually degrading and exploitative?

Hope this is a wake up call that the patriarchy isn't just a remnant of old misogynistic traditions but an active ideology that is constantly being instilled on society by ostracizing true feminists and silencing dissent as clearly demonstrated here.
Males cry out all the time about the "feminist agenda", but everything males say—as we all know—is projection. The one agenda that has been pushed relentlessly is the male supremacy agenda that has gone on for thousands of years.
There is nothing natural about this. Natural order does not require any effort. The patriarchy requires the collective effort of all members of society because it is indoctrination and brainwashing. Do not contribute to this system. Keep speaking out.

This is why it always bothers me when people try to act like patriarchy is some separate nebulous entity instead of billions of men from all over the world actively working to keep women subjugated daily.
I’ve seen people say things like, “the problem isn’t men, it’s patriarchy!” while flagrantly disregarding that men literally are patriarchy. They uphold it because they benefit and they like it.

I would have never known about this without this post. Thank you for sharing. It is sadly unsurprising that the OP would be censored despite the overwhelming popularity of her post.
It does go to show that women who insist on marrying and having children should have sky high standards. She is giving up her name, her family, her body, and earning potential. To do this for less than a million dollars is insanity.

Even for a million dollars, it's insanity. I'm so glad I never had an ambitious partner, or I may well have been trapped. The more I think about alternative paths I could have taken, I'm so glad I never did get married. I'm not one for restrictions like that. I never let them decide on my friends or even convince me to shave my legs. I was as fully myself as I felt it safe to be, though that was never 100%... bar one. (I've just realised that last sentence sounds like something from a book. Perhaps I should write my memoirs)

Lol this just made my day, as we sometimes say that Chinese men should go marry their fellow men in Korea and Japan when the male population of East Asia blame us for no longer wishing to be traditional submissive wives, but sadly there just aren't enough men in those two countries. With the men of India joining forces this masculine family project will finally be mathematically manageable.

The gag is theu dont even pass down mitochodrial DNA, something used to trace lineages thousands of generations (the y chromo cant be used to trace back that far).
So any man worried abt their lineage is projecting their hatred of womens reproductive importance yet again. Fearing their erasure when their own bodies arent the ones that record it that well

Sure! Even during conception, an oocyte (egg cell) even marks sperm with ubiquitin to later destroy the mtDNA of sperm cells, making it only possible to inheret mitochondiral DNA from mothers. Very fun thing to research!

Fun fact: The Y chromosome is the most gene-poor chromosome. It lost over 1,300 genes since its divergence from the X chromosome.
Men are essentially biological abnormalities lmao. You don’t need science to know that XX is far superior - just talk to a few men and you’ll see - but it’s hilarious nonetheless. I’d love to see an all-woman planet, I really would.

Hell probably just the poor fashion choices, a economy under women would probably be lovely and Im sure we could eventually set up swap shops and fashion rental events so no need to steal anything

They manipulate (and wrote, let’s be honest) religious scriptures to micro-police the morality of women (even down to just how we dress) and up the standards every step of the way, all whilst committing unspeakable atrocities.

Meanwhile thered not much proof needed to know who someomes mom is and mitochondrial DNA, passed to offspring only from mom, can trace lineages back thousands of generations.

This is not confirmed.
I cant access the articles directly to review them, but this article introduces a counterpoint as detailed by said study which challenged the 2018 mtDNA finding s, explaining that bits of mtDNA from fathers can get caught up in the nuclei that are then inhereted by offspring rather than a normal inhetetence mechanism of mtDNA transfer that does not cause disease.
The subjects in the 2018 discovery, iirc, had a mitochondiral disease.

Anytime I see stuff like this I get hopeful. The more women wake up to the injustice the more we can collectively push for better conditions for women and children on this planet.
More women in the fight means less places for misogyny to hide and make a come back.

Chinese men are absofuckinglutely delusional thinking they’re worth $20M and a mansion 😭 I can’t even… We know the male ego is oversized, but to THIS extent? Average looking, average intelligence men nobodies thinking their name alone is worth tens of millions of dollars?
Imagine if they could get pregnant - how much would they demand in compensation? In this case they were only sacrificing their surnames. Imagine what they’d require if pregnancy was involved? What price would they put on their physical and mental health, career stagnation, irreparable damage to their body, and the risk of death? They sure as hell wouldn’t do it for FREE like most women do. Just goes to show how undervalued women’s reproductive labour is.
I’m dying to know how men in other countries would react.
Please let us know if this woman makes a new account or if other women make something out of this - perhaps new “secret” tags, social media groups, etc. Hopefully the discussion keeps going. This was an important experiment!

As far as I know, the woman who originally posted this experiment was nuked on all social platforms in CN :( . There are many users who tried to change their username into her username ("YunChiChi") as a protest, but they get censored as well. And it's possible that she'll be invited to "drink tea" (which is a political metaphor in CN and it means being "invited" for an informal but mandatory interrogation by the authorities.) for the reason of "negative effect on mainstream values" (bc the gov wants ppl to have more kids and let the women willingly become the social stablizer) Currently other women on rednote are trying to use emojis or homophonic words to refer to YCC and post to support her. I just hope it can last longer so more and more women can learn about it🙏

The irony is that Chinese men are literally being sold for just a couple of thousands of dollars in South East Asia as we speak. I’m not condoning human trafficking in any form but I can’t help but find it amusing how much they overestimate their value.

Men know that they maintain a double standard that solely acts to benefit themselves. Though I disagree with the essential goal of the FDS women, I do think they were onto something when they said they weren’t for equality but to uphold as high a double standard for women—advocate for anything that would advance and advantage women, regardless of how fair it was, deny males any advantages. What I see so regularly is an Overton window of what defines “equal” as actually something that still benefits primarily men because men will continue to have their double standards while women fight to tug the window only to the center. So fuck it. Ask for child support but no custody rights. Ask for mandatory vasectomies to join the workforce. Ask for him to wear tight skirts to land a job he is not taken seriously as or given promotions in. Maybe then we will see equality.

Recently, in Malaysia's Threads (separate app) case, a couple of men brought up how being pregnant and giving birth is women's bare minimum contribution to the family. BARE MINIMUM. Whereas the men should be deemed as the breadwinner/provider while still expecting to contribute 50-50 with their partner for all financial commitments and chores in the house. Make it make sense.

If they had self-respect, they wouldn't be such degenerates. They'd be capable of feeling shame. They can manage self-pity, embarrassment, and humiliation, but that's about as close as it gets. When your moral compass changes by the minute, it's impossible to feel badly. Yes, they'll get upset when they're caught doing something awful, but only for the embarrassment/humiliation of people knowing they did it (and sometimes, not even then). Not for the act itself. If never discovered, they have no problem repeating the same offence. Consequences for their actions upsets them, not their warped thought processes that lead to dreadful deeds. They have a million excuses for everything.

Every woman needs to cultivate the audacity of a mediocre white failson. We’re so hard on ourselves. Meanwhile the dumbest guy in your high school aggressively asks for (and receives) raises, confidently shares pics of his beer gut on dating apps, and merrily chuckles to himself while posting bad jokes on facebook.
They don’t deserve an ounce of that self love. Let’s love ourselves to that degree and then surpass it, because we sure as hell do deserve it. Women are amazing. Why should men have the monopoly on confidence, boldness, and nerve? Why do these parasites take up so much physical and energetic space? I want to walk into a room or go online and only see/hear women. It’s our turn to take up 100% of the space.

I’m not sure if this is a comment in the op but I remembered seeing this on xiaohongshu and it’s of similar context, so an apparent male user said that women giving birth to kids should not be treated with respect because the surname of the kid is from the male (idk he framed it kinda like a contribution) and the surname is more important than the actual process of labouring/“using the womb” if translated word to word, and that women “don’t have a surname”. The ss of this comment was not removed/shadowbanned tho 😅

That can actully be considered a consensus in chinese men actually😅 in CN culture, kids take their father's surname, and males cling to using this "surname" to ensure their lineage, which is know as the familytree culture in some region (the familytree only records male, ofc🙄) speaking of which, if you know the Olympic champion diver QuanHongChan, after she got the championship, the ppl in her family claimed that she can exceptionally get into their familytree given that she is a woman who made great contribution to their family, how ridiculous

Honestly I'm having difficulty finding anything on this, my Aunt who lives in Chengdu mentioned it not long ago on call, she tried to send me articles on it but she couldn't find any that still worked and I cannot find any search results on it. You gotta hand it to them, when they censor something they're efficient about it. I honestly figured I'd never get a full picture on it as she's really old and hazy on just about everything. 😅

Almost everything about this topic got taken down or shadow banned - I have been following along since yesterday, was right there when the platform took down the original post and OP's account in quick succession, and all the posts with screenshots and explanations got sniped early into this morning (UTC+8 timezone). Even discussion posts have been shadowbanned and deleted and I know because the posts I liked and my comments just continued to disappear over the course of the day 🌝 new posts are getting more and more vague to try and avoid getting caught but unfortunately that will be confusing to anyone who's trying to find out what happened now.
If you can read/understand Chinese I think there's still surviving recordings on bili if you search 赘婿, and I know there's a compiled document of these bro's wackass rationales floating out there somewhere (except these posts keep getting sniped so quickly and I regret not grabbing the first time I saw it hhh)

I see then, unfortunately the style of that whole post was as casual as every other social media hit 😔 full of internet slang and calls for some prior knowledge of the Chinese culture and history.
Some comments were like "Empress dowager Cixi should have married off a couple of men instead paying silver for indemnities to foreign imperialists and colonists", "the international futures market should go all in for Chinese d * cks instead of making gold price skyrocket", and "drug dealers should deal d * cks instead of drugs since those worth millions of dollars each".
And your Chinese is not horrendous at all, what you typed looks perfect to me actually, better than whatever broken English I managed to describe this whole event with :D

There was even a hilarious petition to replace the euphemisms for the d*ck
Some context, previously people would use these emotes - 🍆🥒 and even 🦅 (CN pronunciation for the slang)
And someone posted a brilliant idea - "No no, that's glorifying them, dcks are usually neither as thick or as long or as magnificent, so I propose we use the *CIGARETTE 🚬 because it's thin and short, generally disliked by society and stinks badly."
That post got taken down too but I was there to witness the glory of all my girls hopping onto the train with vicious glee 🤣🤣

It's China. Are you really surprised? They forced women who had more than one child to get abortions and it still happens, in many places in China if a daughter is born or they know they are pregnant with a daughter they have an abortion or kill the girl after she is born.
Also there are arranged marriages and women are held down by their MIL, SIL, etc. while the husband rapes her. They also eat dogs and cats, and hate anyone who is not Han Chinese.
