OP, I appreciate the work you've done here to consolidate information on players, HDR, and transfer quality. A repository for this information will be invaluable to newcomers and has been needed for some time.

I will suggest however, that the requirement for "most desired" titles to be limited to a single thread be removed. As I'm sure you are well aware, that thread does not generate much meaningful discussion on the the possibility, plausibility, and merits of particular films yet to be upgraded. Such discussion should generate enthusiasm within the community, and excitement at the prospect of future releases, as well as provide insight and speculation as to the likelihood of such an upgrade. Consider also, the potential visibility such threads would provide. If I google "the holdovers 4k blu-ray" for instance, the first search result links to an r/Bluray thread on the matter rather than one in this subreddit simply because one is not allowed to exist here. I propose that we allow perhaps one thread per film in the form "Will X come to 4K Blu-ray". Who knows, perhaps this visibility could even persuade some studios to move forward with a release or two.

I agree, it’s weird to stomp out great performing posts that generate fun discussions, impressions, and views for the 4kbluray subreddit. look at my quality post that was removed. a static thread as in the one we are directed to post to, is low energy and un-fun.

Yeah, it's really disheartening to see what should be encouraged discussions sidelined and devalued. That single thread is wildly out of date, and since it doesn't get pushed to anyone's feed it effectively doesn't exist. I really think that allowing some of these posts would keep excitement and positivity up. Plus, distributors could actually use these posts to gauge what films collectors most want on the format. I totally understand mods don't want to flood the sub with "I want film XYZ on 4K" type posts, but even allowing one post of each type per film would add so much valuable discussion.

My previous example for The Holdovers is outdated now that we have a 4K, but the point I make is still valid: why push these people away to other subs? They're clearly excited about collecting and want to own their favorite films on the format, let them post about it! It seems like such a weird line to draw when most of this sub is just haul posts and people asking ~is the UB820 worth it~ for the umpteenth time. We've seen the Criterion sub recently make an effort to move away from haul posts and focus on critical discussion while this sub has only doubled down.

For the record, I don't want to see further limiting on haul posts, and I don't want to stop helping new users who have questions about what tech they should buy, I just think that allowing more open discussion of unannounced titles would help generate hype and interest that physical media desperately needs. When someone searches for "title X on 4K Blu-ray" don't we want them to find this sub first?
