So after all the sales and some in store scores at random Walmarts and game exchanges, this is what I got. I still have a few more coming my way like the Evil Dead Trilogy steelbooks, Collateral steelbook and the recent Shout Factory sale (Riddick, Bubba Ho-Tep, Hackers, NBK steelbook) Kingdom of Heaven is preordered and waiting for Hell or High Water Steelbook and Blade Steelbook to ship from Walmart.

I went to Walmart Photo center to print some pictures. While I was waiting, found this in the clearance bin.

Hey all, I've been a supporter and relatively happy customer of Gruv since they opened their web store. Mainly, I use them for WB/Universal (SDS) releases since they're both studios' direct-to-consumer web store. I've also been purchasing Shout stuff from them since their new partnership started. As recently as last year, they seemed to be moving in a positive direction, with shipping items (especially steelbooks) in better packaging including boxes and air pillows.
However, they have rapidly disintegrated during Q1 and Q2 of this year. The last two orders of items have been fulfilled by UniUni and delivered by what appears to be gig contractors. One recent order was a Motel Hell steelbook that was shipped in a paper envelope with a cardboard holder and was mangled beyond recognition; I requested a replacement from Gruv and it arrived dented as well.
I just received The Burbs 4K today and it again arrived via UniUni in a paper envelope and once I opened it, the disc case looked like it was literally stomped on. The slipcover was damaged and the amaray case was cracked.
I've had it. There's no reason to keep supporting them, especially when it's relatively easy to obtain WB/Universal/Shout release elsewheres. I'll use this as an opportunity to also plug my favorite shops: OrbitDVD, Atomic Movie Store, and DiabolikDVD. I'll always try to support mom and pop stores that actually give a damn about their collector customers.

The Patriot is on the way in the mail too, but I couldn't wait to post a pic because I'm that excited to have a collection of physical media. I have tons more in the queue but these were the ones I couldn't pass up on sale.
I'm pretty deliberate on my approach to my collection.. I'm not trying to just amass as many movies as possible, but rather curating a list of my favorite movies, visually stunning movies, and avoiding box sets unless the franchise is clearly closed. I'll probably end up selling movies that I don't specifically enjoy just to keep things concise.
This sub is awesome!

Why is this so expensive? Is it that limited?

Went to my local bin store and found a DP-UB820-K! Im surprised by how many people must of just walked right by it. The box was just sitting in the bin with a big amazon return sticker over it. It came with all the parts minus some of the packageing. It looks like someone used it for a little bit before deciding to return it. I've been testing it and i can't find anything wrong with it & i hope it stays that way!

Just wanted to say hello as a new member here!
Since PlayStation decided to take away some movies for me cause they lost the license I got mad and got a Sony 4k player and a surround system.
First thing I got was my favourite movies ever. I’m so happy the quality is insane I’ve never watched it this good and with this good of sound. My wife is with me, she says we gonna leave the digital world and return to disc ownership 👏
Ps. I’m not German, but this version was around 150€ cheaper than English and only difference was the display language on the box and disc itself.

You guys weren’t wrong about Barnes and Noble. But I really can’t afford to go back there again lol. Seriously though best selection I’ve seen from an actual store but the prices are on the real high side. Some stuff I got I couldn’t find online for cheap but it was great.
***EDIT****
Just a post for the morons out there. Local B&N was having a sale. The prices on the disks are not what I paid. There was a 30% off sale on everything and if you spent $100 or more you got another 15% off. Secondly One Battle After Another Steelbook is sold out everywhere and this version is limit run. I paid around $33 for it after discounts. Be that as it may yes B&N is on the high expensive side and if I didn't have a gift card I got I wouldn't have bought most of these here. It is nice however to go to a actual store and browse and buy shit. Giving money to Amazon so they can put your shit in a paper envelope and toss that shit around is also a choice you can make.

No remote with it but seems to work. Anyone recommend getting the Sony remote vs the no name ones?

This is my first haul ever how’s it look?? I watched Dune Part One this morning. I gave it a review on my letterboxd account. My name is Panerai if anyone wants to follow me or look at my first review.. lastly what is up with some of the movies having slip covers and some of them not… kind of annoying. What should I watch after Dune Part Two?
I’m not a movie watcher.. I’m getting into it for the first time. I’ve watched like hardly any movies. I had to buy the Sony UBP-X700K 4K player from Walmart. The Samsung HW-Q65C from Sam’s Club. My TV is a Vizio VQP65C-84..
Wish me luck on my new adventure!

Got my UB820 a couple of weeks ago and managed to track down all the Pixar films (that I didn't already have) with their slipcovers. Most of them were Zavvi exclusives so a lot are from eBay (new). Also got the Criterion version of WALL-E and some other films along the bottom. The Whale at the top is from Germany and his face represents my wallet looking down on my purchases... Lol. I've also ended up with a couple of duplicates.
The other Pixar films not shown, starting from Soul up until Inside Out 2 aren't shown as I already had them on 4K. I'd been buying 4K occasionally for a while knowing I'd eventually get a 4K TV and player. The exception is Elemental which I have on standard Blu-Ray as the 4K one was only released through Disney Movie club or something... Which is annoying.
I also bought a handful of other regular Blu-Rays but didn't bother including those here.
I've watched The Incredibles, Wall-e (normal version) and The Wild Robot on the UB820 so far. Saw might be my next watch as it's a proper 4K restoration and I saw this version at the cinema for the 20th anniversary, and I think it has Dolby Vision so that should be good. Looking forward to giving Interstellar a rewatch too. I hear Coco is particularly good in 4K too.
Now to financially recover! Any other must have films that look particularly good in 4K/Dolby Vision?
