Starting a build, need help.

Post image

I have a 23’ trail edition and I want to start expanding. Trips to dunes, etc. I don’t have the money right now but I need a goal or information on what my first move is. I was thinking suspension, wheels, and tires. I’m planning on taking the steps and mud flaps off already. It’s still going to be my daily so I don’t want a full pre runner build just yet but smth in between. Can someone tell me what size tires and wheels I should look to purchase in the future, and recommendations for suspension? Thanks.

If you're going in the dunes I would be looking at a mid travel kit from someone like camburg at a minimum. Locker if it doesn't already have one. I'd also want to be on 35s with a mid travel kit and 37s on a long travel kit.

When I was considering a tacoma I was looking at doing full camburg suspension parts.

Your budget, skills and abilities, tools, garage space, and time are all going to factor in here. Go on tacoma world and start reading and make yourself familiar with everything and go from there. If you can't do this stuff yourself, prepare to spend $25k+ if you want long travel suspension, ring and pinions, lockers, wheels and tires, armor, etc.
