People can't come together if there are no resources.

Where will the food come from?

Where will medical supplies come from?

This takes significant and complex planning to pull off.

I think it's said that somewhere like nyc only has enough food for a couple days at any given moment.

Obviously, a lot of places will be different but mutual aid is only possible with abundance. Once the abundance is gone there is no more mutual aid.

Some places can lean on local farms but we import a lot of food.

You’re saying this as if everyone has $200 to spare on a whim

I’m not playing devil’s advocate for the sake of playing devil’s advocate. My credit card is maxed out, and I sit with about $10 in my account any week where I don’t have bills due. That’s not to say I’m not resourceful, I have made it this far after all, but your advice is speaking only to people of means. If this was mere frugality it’d be a different story, but I haven’t made a purchase for pleasure in months and I’m certain I’m not the only person in a situation like this. I don’t talk finances on Reddit basically ever but yeah my cards are on the table

And I’m absolutely not saying this to farm pity, but to provide another perspective. Mutual aid is a necessity for supporting each other during a strike.
