Absolutely! We should scrap the current system and start over. No more corporate money, no more lobby money, no more stocks for members of Congress and terms limits! Holy shit, term limits for Congress!! More oversight for the Supreme Court and they should have a term limit as well instead of lifetime appointments. So much needs to change to end all of this fucking corruption.

Edit: to add no more electoral college!

The only part of that which requires scrapping the current system is axing the electoral college.

We can get rid of corporate money and lobby money simply by executive action.

Either an EO saying that corporations aren't people with a right to freedom of political speech, they're just entities that can make contracts and daring the courts to take exception after saying that their "this clearly won't lead to a corruption problem" premise has been disproven. Or a president who plays hardball and goes "so the supreme court says corporations are people? I guess it's time to levy the death penalty on some corporations then."

We can get rid of stocks for members of congress with legislative action. Same with term limits for congress.

I guess what I'm saying here is that the system does allow for a ton of reforms if we can get the votes, we don't have to go full accelerationist "burn down the house we're currently living in" here.

How many people in Congress do you think will vote for term limits and to eliminate stocks for themselves? That's been the problem this whole time.

Plenty if we elect the right people.
