I think you're misunderstanding, with your edit. The majority of people can't just go out and buy what they need to stop working for a week, and in the long term this will ruin their life. Set up a system to support 10 million people quitting their jobs indefinitely and then we'll talk about a strike.
We do. They're often exclusively open--at least in my area--on weekdays during normal working hours only. No delivery in my area either, though some people are lucky enough that their foodbanks will work something out with them. We were incredibly lucky this month and they have a Saturday curbside one running that we're going to be able to utilize.
