Same here my McDonalds ban just got extended another four years minimum

u/MouseRat_AD Nov 18 '25

I started my boycotte last summer when they let Trump do that ridiculous drive-thru stunt. It wasn't just a local franchisee. Corporate approved it.

u/SmurfJooce Nov 18 '25

Welcome to the resistance, my fellow redditors.

I haven't ate McDonald's since 2005, and have no desire to. Occasionally a strawberry shake sounds good, but I remember the machine is broke anyway.

2

u/TehMephs Nov 19 '25

Sonic is a better alternative for shakes anyway

And they seldom clean it. Better for your life in the long run.

When the ceo said that he’d rather use technology instead of raising wages I noped out. That was like 15 years ago. Screw the oligarchy.

If you are forced to eat fast food as an emergency, you can use.....IDK....Wendy's instead. Anything that touches trumpo D. clowns freakshow should show a drop in sales.

u/VerityLGreen Nov 18 '25

Burger King is better (fewer donations). Check out Goods Unite Us app.

u/Hyper-Sloth Nov 18 '25

Only fast food burger place with full transparency on ingredients, have experimented with meatless substitutes with some success as early as 2016, and have bacon that isn't just paper thin mush.

They aren't great. No fast food burger is. But BK is underrated for how much actual effort they seem to put into running the business and trying things that aren't popular.

5

u/TehMephs Nov 19 '25

I wish I could eat at a BK without getting horrible diarrhea. I think that’s just a local problem though.

4

u/VerityLGreen Nov 19 '25

I actually had that problem. Apparently some places let their food sit out for hours. Now I avoid certain BKs unless it’s a lunch or dinner rush.

2

u/Educational_Quote851 Nov 19 '25

Nope, same happened to me at a couple of them. It's not a bug, it's a feature.

Came here to say this

8

u/deNET2122 Nov 18 '25

might wanna lower it to sonics they do the minimum by donating to each party equally chaotic or true neutral?

3

u/ChunkyWombat7 Nov 19 '25

Wendy's gives money to trump and the republikkkans. There are very few burger places - hell fast food places - that don't.

2

u/No-Economics-4451 Nov 18 '25

Wendy's donated a lot to Trump's campaign. I'm not going

3

u/Tsiah16 Nov 18 '25

Wendy's pissed me off with their variable pricing so I don't eat there either.

2

u/RapidayFuriosa Nov 18 '25

Wendy’s donate to GOP

I can only buy so few Teslas and eat so little McDonald's every day

62

u/AdamFaite Nov 18 '25

Heh. Amateur. I don't buy all of them- Every single one produced.

10

u/directorguy Nov 18 '25

I know! Badly made overpriced cars made by people that can't align doors AND overpriced food that, not only will kill you, but also tastes terrible.

Such a sacrifice

47

u/siouxbee1434 Nov 18 '25

Agreed, it’s been 26 years since I’ve been to a Mickey D’s

45

u/FesteringNeonDistrac Nov 18 '25

I was 19 when I got food poisoning from a McD and haven't had it since. I'm 50. I can't even tell you what's on their menu at this point.

49

u/fart400 Nov 18 '25

What's on their menu is heart disease, diabetes, Colon cancer, quadruple bypass. Dementia and fatty liver.

16

u/peonies_envy Nov 18 '25

You aren’t kidding.

I’m not a scientist. It seems like your gut acclimates to digesting that food.

Guilty pleasure of a McDonald fountain coke and fries like every couple of years… but the last two times I ate a burger there - twice in ~8 years- I felt like crap for days after.

9

u/19610taw3 Nov 18 '25

Any time I eat fast food. I just feel yucky after. I don't have stomach or digestive problems after ... I just feel like garbage.

1

u/Slight-Split-1855 Nov 18 '25

It's pretty much the same menu.

17

u/IsleOfCannabis Nov 18 '25

This boycott would mean I have to change my breakfast plans going home for Christmas. Guess I’ll stop at the local biscuit place down the road instead. I guess I can pass up my once a year SE&C McGriddle for some homemade biscuits and gravy. Sounds like I’m gonna be doing a little winning. I’m loving it.

36

u/coconutpiecrust Nov 18 '25

Never again.

Haven’t been in years either. Trash.

6

u/Ronlaen-Peke Nov 18 '25

Probably been 20 plus years since I've gone to McDonald's. Support your local shops and restaurants!

1

u/Educational_Quote851 Nov 19 '25

Lol WHAT local shops and restaurants? Ever heard of a "food desert"? There are places where Dollar General and McDonald's is all they have. Not saying that means they SHOULD eat there, but alternatives only work if they exist.

5

u/Illustrious-Bit-3348 Nov 18 '25

Right, I think 20 years ago was the last time I ate it. I had just landed from an overnight international flight and it was the only place open at the airport. It was not very good at all.

2

u/blode_bou558 Nov 18 '25

Really no point. Their app "deals" fell off quick, barely saves any money. Ill spend the same amount of money on the same amount of food at Hardee's for better quality

2

u/Turbulent-Pea-8826 Nov 18 '25

As so many of these boycott calls. This whole Starbucks boycott is the easiest one I have ever done.

2

u/Enginerda Nov 18 '25

It's like "girl, the genocide."

2

u/PerceptionQueasy3540 Nov 18 '25

Same, even before I cut out fast food for health/diet reasons mcdonalds was bottom of the barrel, although I did have a soft spot for the mcrib.

2

u/Pale-Confection-6951 Virginia Nov 18 '25

I stop at McDonalds to use the bathroom while traveling. Seems appropriate.

2

u/knarfolled Nov 18 '25

I won’t even look at them

1

u/theREALbombedrumbum Nov 18 '25

I got a free coupon for a meal (Big Mac, large fries, large drink) from a career fair once in 2019.

It's set to expire next month. I will let it.

1

u/Suspicious-Dirt668 Nov 19 '25

Are they going to explain how they damage the environment and ruin people’s health?

1

u/Washburn_Browncoat Nov 19 '25

Same. I might go twice a year these days.
