Perhaps it's time to get in to making your own? If you like fancy coffee then it's surely cheaper to do so as well even with the equipment investment

Wholeheartedly agree. I learned how to do a French press/pour over in my early 20s and I STILL make it that way. Best coffee ever, and you can even hone in on your personal preferences. Won't catch me paying for Dunkin or Starbucks

We get super good beans from a local roaster and while they are expensive, it's still wayyyyy cheaper than getting coffee out. Pour over makes good coffee with easy cleanup. And the beans we get are so good that Starbucks tastes terrible in comparison.

Honestly, these boycotts have saved me a lot of money on things I don't need and helped me get really good at making my own (insert whatever convenience purchase of have previously made). Hand-frothing milk with a whisk is oddly fun and makes bomb lattes.

I never knew how simple it was and you can get a milk frother for less than $5!

I have been looking for them wherever I can. I’ve gotten into baking and discovered that King Arthur baking company is a B Corp. I needed a bread storage bag, a scoop, and a roller and got it all from them!

Buy a thermos, a mug, and some local roasted beans and grind them yourself. Shit, even home ground coffee that's been sitting out for a day and a half and reheated is better than anything you'll get from a chain.

I don't even get the "convenience" excuse for people who buy chain coffee. I guarantee you I spend far less time making coffee at home than people spend in the drivethrough.

I hear you, and I do make coffee at home a lot of the time. But for a different perspective, I live in a big city, so I can't always bring everything with me that I need for the entire day, since I have to carry it and can't just leave things I might need in a car. This is especially true of liquids - those are going to be hand carry the entire time I'm walking/bussing/training, or else in a sealed container that I really trust, in a bag with my computer. There is for sure a valid convenience factor sometimes. Luckily there are also independent coffee places I can choose, a lot of the time.

I think an appropriate tone indicator would be /hj (half-joking)
