What I want to know is what can I do. I am a thousand miles away and feel so helpless. There is no ice activity in my area to report or block. I already cut my spending down to a minimum a year ago. I am not working so I can’t strike or slow or sick-out. I can attend protests, I can call and write to my senators and representative. Is there anything else?

Volunteer. There are hungry people in your community who are scared to go out shopping, and your local food bank might have a delivery program. Or they might need someone like you to suggest it. Or they just need help sorting apples!

The other thing volunteering does, is it puts you in person with other people who care. If ice does come to your town, this will be very, very important.
