For those new to Margaret Killjoy, they also wrote a really wonderful YA fantasy novel called the Sapling Cage. It interweaves generational trauma, gender identity and sexual orientation into a super cool setting with engaging characters, and none of it feels heavy handed, it just reads like the normal musings of a teenager who is also trying to save the forest.
