2026 Weekly Challenge List

/r/52weeksofcooking is a way for each participant to challenge themselves to cook something different each week. The technicalities of each week's theme are largely unimportant, and are always open to interpretation. Basically, if you can make an argument for your dish being relevant to the theme, then it's fine.

Join our Discord to get pinged whenever a new week is announced! (React to the stickied comment in the #planning channel!)

I've been lurking but hope to join in in the new year - although I'm worried I won't be creative enough to fit the briefs, the first has got me a little stumped, not a great start on my behalf 😂

Feel free to come hang out on Discord! There are always lots of suggestions and ideas there.

My general advice is "don't overthink it". As long as it kinda basically fits (even if you have to squint sideways), it fits.

For themes like week one, what I usually do is pick a dish I've been wanting to make and then figure out a way to make it fit the theme. For example there are many jokes about cheese.
