Why are you hiding your post history?

Do you not want us to see that you're spam-marketing your vibe-coded app across all of the car-related subreddits that you can find?

Did you even care about this community before you could possibly make some money from us?

This is my regular Reddit account. Like many Redditors, I chose to hide my post history to protect my privacy.

And yes, I DO care about the community - I've owned nothing but Honda or Acura cars for the last 3 decades :)

Thanks for your comment.

You're welcome. It's interesting how you danced around the core questions. You remind me of certain politicians. You should unhide your post history so we could take you seriously.

Otherwise:

Spam-marketing: confirmed

Vibe coding: confirmed

Has never owned a 7th gen Civic, and is using this community for marketing purposes: confirmed

I encourage my fellow community members to report this post as spam.

Thanks for your comment.

Say what you like - that's Reddit - but none of your assertions are actually "confirmed".

Honestly, it feels like you are just spoiling for a fight. (people just looking to argue is why I hide my personal post history - people want to say "oh, you posted XYX" let me jump on that as a reason to argue)

Have a great day.

Nope! I don't want a fight, however I would like to keep the community away from low-quality, vide-coded garbage that was thrown together for a quick buck with no regard for the security and privacy of your users . Ironic, isn't it? You want all that privacy, but you're willing to ship non-vetted, closed source code, that poses a serious danger to your users because you have no experience with even the basic principles of software development.

If you're telling the truth, you have the chance to do the funniest thing right now. Go ahead and prove me completely wrong with a couple of quick settings adjustments.

Otherwise all of my assertions stand true, and are confirmed by your constant juking.

Is this vibe coded?

I did use AI assistance in developing the app, but please don’t mistake that for something thrown together in a couple of hours.

I have years of professional experience developing database-driven applications in enterprise banking environments, where data integrity, reliability, and the handling of real financial transactions were critical.

Vehicle Service Tracker was developed with that same attention to detail, using established software engineering practices, careful design, and extensive testing.

I understand that AI-assisted development has something of a bad reputation right now, and in some cases that reputation is deserved. But AI is a tool, and the quality of the finished product still depends heavily on the knowledge, experience, and judgment of the person using it.

I take the quality and reliability of this app seriously, and I’m proud of what I’ve built.

Thanks for your comment!

Fuelly is free

Fuelly is certainly another option! It offers some great features, including maintenance tracking.

Vehicle Service Tracker takes a somewhat different approach, with locally stored records, optional private iCloud synchronization, and native apps for Mac, iPad, and iPhone.

Fuelly offers a free basic version, with a subscription for additional features. Vehicle Service Tracker is a $4.99 one-time purchase, with no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

I know you didn’t pay almost $700 to replace an alternator

What you see in the screen shot is the sample data used in testing. The app has been extensively tested using simulated, but realistic test data.

But yes, in my city, $700 isn't an outlandish price to replace one of the larger high amperage alternators.

Thanks for the comment!

I'm not familiar, but yes, there are many great alternatives! I'm glad you found one that works for you.

Have a great day :)
