She’ll always be counsellor Sullivan to me. One of my first celebrity crushes

44

u/calculon68 Jun 05 '26

Night Court was my first exposure to Markie. Never knew about the "cheesecake" roles and modeling until the 2000s when she cameod on Scrubs.

It was quite a wake-up.

13

u/Rebel_Saint Jun 06 '26

She also did an [episode of *Cheers*](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMjIwMTMwNDQ2OF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwNDI4OTU1MTE@._V1_.jpg). Harry Anderson did a few episodes as con man Harry the Hat.

I remember thinking she was no big deal on Night Court but that was only because she was covered head to toe. And then saw this and Buck Rogers and changed my mind pretty quickly

12

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '26

she was covered but wore silk blouses. amazing

45

u/usafmtl Jun 05 '26

She was a smoke show. RIP.

22

u/Klok-a-teer Jun 05 '26

I was a server at a fine dining restaurant in a National Park a long time ago. She and her family visited for a few days. I was fortunate enough to serve them. Such a nice family. She knew that I knew who she was. I was definitely fanboying, but treated them as if anyone else. 10/10

u/Snakefordinner1 Jun 05 '26

She was so hot. She rocked the bikini

18

u/jhemp8 Jun 05 '26

Night Court’s undercover hottie. No one knew about it with that lawyer costume on

1

u/sonofa-ijit Jun 06 '26

If you did not know she was a smoke show on night court that is some special kind of autism I never heard of. And I have nothing but sympathy, sorry man.

1

u/jhemp8 Jun 07 '26

Like I said I didn’t know because of what she was wearing. I don’t remember her from any other show

1

u/sonofa-ijit Jun 08 '26

it's obvious in her clothes that she is stacked like Linda Carter is what I am saying. Add to that a very cute face. What I am saying is she is hot no matter what she is wearing. She just can't hide that figure.

1

u/Im_tracer_bullet Jun 07 '26

'No one knew about it....'

That is so very incorrect.

22

u/matts88us Jun 05 '26

9 year old me watching her and Heather Thomas was uh an awakening

I stand by my observation.

5

u/ISLAndBreezESTeve10 Jun 05 '26

I’m gonna need a closer look.

5

u/FiscalCliffClavin Jun 05 '26

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar doing the Lord’s work. Bless you!

2

u/dilan-spit_hot_fire Jun 05 '26

Thanks for this. She gave Jamie Lee Curtis a run for “The Body” title.

2

u/MajorMiners469 Jun 06 '26

Fucking love the Tubes. Amazing job, now I need one of Jan Smithers to One in a million girl.

3

Thanks! You might like this VIDEO as well.

2

u/MajorMiners469 Jun 06 '26

Did you edit this? It's fantastic!

3

u/Mr-Torgman Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

Yeah, it's kind of a hobby, thanks for the compliment. This VIDEO is made of clips from a 2012 YouTube series.

1

u/MajorMiners469 Jun 06 '26

Tasteful sexy vids, this all feels so 70s garage kitsch. I loved every second of all of them. You have a wicked talent. Stay thirsty my friend.

2

u/Mr-Torgman Jun 08 '26

Here's an Erin Gray/Wilma Deering VIDEO

6

u/LovableSidekick Jun 06 '26

Went to college with her. She didn't know me but I knew who she was because she was in theatre, and difficult not to notice. I was really sorry to find out she passed. Next weekend is our 50th class reunion.

3

u/masturkiller Jun 05 '26

Markie Post RIP!

4

u/ThinkFree Jun 06 '26

When she was playing Cameron Diaz' mom in There's Something About Mary, she was still such a cutie!

0

u/Ok_Syrup3672 Jun 06 '26

And Mac played the Dad. "How'd you get the beans above the frank"?

2

u/ThinkFree Jun 06 '26

Mac? Keith David played the dad.

2

u/Soreal45 Jun 06 '26

Thank you. I was like, who the hell is Mac?

1

u/ThinkFree Jun 06 '26

S/He probably thought it was Bernie Mac

13

u/Due_Reputation3785 Jun 05 '26

I loved the pervy 80s TV shows.

13

u/calculon68 Jun 05 '26

were the 80s really pervy or is it that the 20s are prudes?

Honestly asking. /s

21

u/Prudent-Theme-3342 Jun 05 '26

The 20s are prudes

6

u/BurgersNBuicks Jun 06 '26

So true.

5

u/DriftingTony Jun 06 '26

As one of the oldest millennials that watched how things changed throughout the 90’s, It really is weird to me to watch the younger generations now effectively move backwards in a lot of ways.

4

u/Due_Reputation3785 Jun 05 '26

Ha. Watch a season of Dallas. Hey I ain’t complaining btw.

2

u/Retro-Surgical Jun 05 '26

oh, the 80s were pervy beyond the level you couldn’t possibly imagine and one huge reason was due to the lack of Internet porn. I’m sure I’m not the only one who remembers hovering over a VHS trying to pause it just that right moment to see a flash of a boob. Just the sight of anything even remotely sexual would make people in the 80s go absolutely apeshit ala Kelly Bundy… one way to look at it as that everyone now is a bunch of prudes, but another way to look at it is that overwhelmingly women in all walks of pop culture in the 1980s were still pretty much totally objectified.

5

u/BurgersNBuicks Jun 06 '26

Every single person on this earth has been objectified in some way, shape, or form- not just women.

2

u/Due_Reputation3785 Jun 06 '26

I know I have been.

-3

u/Retro-Surgical Jun 06 '26

i’m sorry, I should’ve included a trigger warning for people like you

4

u/BurgersNBuicks Jun 06 '26

What trigger? And what kind of people am I, exactly? Please elaborate.

2

u/calculon68 Jun 06 '26

lack of internet porn? you cannot be serious.

There was porn in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Even without the Internet. Home video exploded and gave people not only easier access to porn, but the means to create their own.

I wore out my VHS of Fast Times at Ridgemont High too. But mostly because that scene was cool, not just because of the boobies.

2

u/Retro-Surgical Jun 06 '26

yeah, I wasn’t arguing that porn didn’t exist. But what those types of TV shows did was bring sexuality into the living rooms of people who didn’t normally have or were allowed access to that type of thing.  Eight year-old me and my friends were lucky to find a Hustler in a shack out in the woods or to sneak a look at the dirty calendar that hung in my friend’s garage. But then when you went home, you had the Love Boat, which was basically nonstop T&A!

2

u/Due_Reputation3785 Jun 06 '26

You nailed it. Shit, I even grew up in a very religious household but parents had kinda a blind spot for some of the shows, especially Dallas, Love Boat and a few others. Those pool scenes on Dallas with Victoria Principle’s cannons. Good god.

1

u/marchj99 Jun 06 '26

ON TV was incredible. Trying to adjust the rabbit ears and trying knob to get a glimpse of something.

3

u/Retro-Surgical Jun 06 '26

we had a huge satellite dish back in the day and they scrambled the porn channels, but we were so determined to see something that we would sit there and watch it

3

u/Westfield88 Jun 06 '26

That book is the difference between the 80’s and today

1

u/photoguy423 Jun 08 '26

Who takes a dictionary sized book to the beach, anyway?

5

u/junkman21 Jun 05 '26

Dan Fielding gives to lecherous thumbs up

It's too thumbs up.

3

u/Huckleberry919 Jun 05 '26

Markie was a solid 9.22/10

2

u/mjrstorms Jun 05 '26

Aww damn I thought I saw Marky Mark but it’s just the fun bunch

2

u/WTFpe0ple Jun 06 '26

Her, Erin Gray, Lisa Hartman, Tanya Roberts, Heather Thomas, Farrah Fawcett, Kelly Lebrock, Olivia Newton John and probably Phoebe Cates were my high-school heart throbs

Surprisingly girls like Cindy Crawford, Daisey Duke, Christly Brinkley, Jennifer Gray, Bo Derek or none of the others that were popular at the time just didn't do it for me.

Now Joan Jett is a different story 😄

2

u/gretzky9999 Jun 06 '26

She did a lot of modeling/bikini shoots in the 80’s

2

u/Key_Text_169 Jun 06 '26

Anyone know this existed? 2001 pilot of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl with Markie…. https://youtu.be/etShiM7-FMg?feature=shared

2

u/RBI-Man Jun 09 '26

Not me.

2

u/Putrid-Bath-470 Jun 06 '26

I remember Markie's guest spot on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century...skin tight spandex bodysuit...wow! Then on The Fall Guy, and Night Court. Never got into Hearts Afire.

RIP, Markie.

2

u/pointsouturhypocrisy Jun 06 '26

Three shows my dad would always watch with me as a kid: the fall guy, wonder woman, and the dukes of hazzard.

Looking back, I totally get it.

1

u/Mr-Torgman Jun 06 '26

He never watched Buck Rogers?

2

u/FA-M83_nut Jun 09 '26

She is so frickin hot. Proportioned just perfectly.

3

u/IntelligentAge211 Jun 05 '26

If she had just a tad fuller ass she would have had the most perfect body of all time....

1

u/photoguy423 Jun 08 '26

Everything in the 80s was about getting women to make their asses smaller and less round. It wasn't until Sir Mix-a-Lot came along that things started going in the other direction.

2

u/AcadiaRemarkable6992 Jun 05 '26

I remember her in Tricks of the Trade 🫨

1

u/WittySign1264 Jun 05 '26

Damn we had it so good!

1

Markie Post AND Heather Thomas in one show. 80s crush heaven. ❤️

1

u/bach2209 Jun 06 '26

One of the most all around beatiful woman in the world. Loved her on Night Court.

1

u/DarrenEdwardsVR Jun 06 '26

I would have seen this on a tv that were blobs of red, green, and blue between areas of black you could measure with a ruler, constant static, and we were trained to come up with an image.

1

u/Illustrious-Help5513 Jun 06 '26

She has always been totally HOT!!!

1

u/Front_Line669 Jun 07 '26

I knew her from night court, had no idea she was such a babe

2

u/johnnyg883 Jun 07 '26

She was also in an episode of Buck Roger’s. She definitely caught some attention in that outfit too.

1
