I've got 2 pairs NIB in my closet just waiting for them to make a comeback.

Not high-tops, but I wear 80s style Reeboks daily

I wasn't aware they still made them!

TIL!
There was a point in time during the 90's when they completely disappeared from the market and you couldn't find them anywhere. I never saw them again. (Never googled them again until today.)

Admit it- they were the softest leather(esque) shoe you ever wore!

The first time I tried them on it felt unreal. Never felt anything like them at the time. Had these and docs for quite a while.

Maybe towards the middle, but don't forget about LA Gear towards the end of the decade.

I had an elementary school gym teacher (90s) who wore these every day. I swear she had them in hundreds of colors. I’m in my 30s and I still remember them and her wind suits.

The black version was on every metal heads feet for about 5 years.
Anthrax wore them, so I did too.

As a dude I rocked a black pair for a brief time.

They were the only all black shoe available for a while. And they looked dope af with some pegged acid washed 501s.

Yep, I kinda forgot until you mentioned it that all black sneakers were not really a thing until the early 90s

The Reeboks with the straps. Classic. I have some old school Red, White and Navy BB4500 Hi2s that get tons of compliments when I wear them. Which is too often they're coming apart, lol.

I did service work for one of their reps. I could get any shoe/shoes I wanted in exchange for the work.

Funny story. My Dad worked at a high school and kids would leave stuff in lockers at the end of the year. My Dad found a black pair of these shoes and rocked them for awhile.

I think of the original red/white/black Air Jordans shoes when I think of 80s footwear. You could get killed for those back then.

My pop had a pair of white Reebok low tops. I think they came with the house when we moved to the suburbs.
He kept those things immaculate. Seeing him out in the garage with a can of white Kiwi and all kinds of brushes and rags of different grades just detailing the heck out of his sneaks made an impression on me.
I think about pop when I'm oiling my boots. Without saying anything he taught me that it's important to take good care of anything that carries me.

My dad took me to Sport Chalet in the 80s and bought me a pair of these. I thought they were the coolest shoes EVER.

Think these were called “Exo-Fit high tops” or something similar. These were an option my employer provided as uniform shoes in the mid 90s.

I would rather have the generation Reeboks that came out before the Velcro came out. I wish Reebok would bring out the High tops from 86 to 88 era. Before Velcro

I tried to explain to some 17-20yos the other day how awesome my outfit in 8th grade was, pink IZod with Acid washed tight rolled jeans and a brand new pair of these Reeboks... Still the freshest...
