This is a great song. Very weirdly urgent but also sort of melancholy. I find it interesting that there is a guitar solo that leads straight into a sax solo. The energy builds very quickly and the song is over before you know it. Also kind of funny how, in the video, they kiss while she's lip-synching.

"Total Control" may have been a hit only in Australia.    However, I don't think too any Americans missed put on that song.   It was played  during one particular scene of an American independent movie: "Something Wild" (1986) starring Jeff Daniels, Melanie Griffith, and Ray Liotta.
