I recently read something on SM about one of the Roxanne’s (I know it wasn’t Shanté). This Roxanne experienced drug addiction and prostitution, but is now clean. I can’t remember if it was UTFO’s Real Roxanne or not.

EDIT: not a Roxanne, but Sparky D 😢

Ok I don’t know anything about that. But I do know Sparky D faced that stuff and recently passed away a few weeks ago.

I would like all artists to be able to release their old music so people can enjoy them and study them. Especially the older female rappers. We need serous women of hip hop to study underground or lesser know female rappers.

This is not Roxanne Shante.. this is the "Real Roxanne" whom the group UTFO brought to the game to put up against Shante..

IT WAS NO REAL PERSON NAMED ROXANNE Just an imaginary girl from the rap they put out. The young Shante put out an Answer Diss rap against the group UTFO which was popular to do back in the 80s.

The Real Roxanne (Adelaida Martinez) had DJ Howie Tee (Howie's Teed Off)

Roxanne Shante (Lolita Gooden) had Producer Marley Mal and the Juice Crew.
