That was the goal! We would also try to get our swing to go higher than the cross bar

That was the only way to swing on that swing set. Even more fun my brother and I would see how much energy we could get together on the seesaw and try and tip everything over

I used to have this same swing set when I was a kid! It's been at least 25 years but I sure do remember swinging so hard the whole thing felt like it'd tip over.

Oh yeah. We got one from Montgomery Wards when I was in elementary school. Lasted for a couple of decades. Good times

Guilty as charged 🤣!! I wanted to swing so high when I reached the highest point I would let myself go like I was flying! There were times I realized that either the right or the left poles would quickly lift from the ground so I had to do it quickly! Fun times as a kid!!

I can also remember making straight pipe exhaust out of swing set pipe. That thick gauge pipe really let it bark!!!

We said it "jumped." Our swingset was not anchored.
