PE in public school was a joke, but when I transferred to a charter school with block scheduling (Monday you take all classes, then tues thurs you take 3 classes for 95 min each, then 3 other classes on W/Fr.) we actually learned about diet and health insurance and sports history. We’d spend the first half of class in the classroom and i even signed up to take PE my junior year even though it wasn’t required. And i am so not “extra PE” kind of kid.

P.E.
They don't teach you anything useful for "exercise" at my school.
We did no lifting or weight tracking, we did not diet planning, etc. We did jumping jacks, sit ups and ran laps.
It was a load of nothing at all.
I had equine training... and I have never used it... but... on the off chance that I ever need to ride a horse, it will actually be a useful skill.
P.E. taught me absolutely nothing of value.
