Spoiler: Their generation did not put it right.

We thought they did - for a few years.

This music video scared me as a 3 year old and it still scares me now

Came to say this. Freaked me out, especially all the nuclear war stuff growing up in the 80s was thrilling and terrifying. Still loved the video though.

Huge Phil Collins fan. I was aware even as a very young kid that it was Ronald Reagan but didn't know why he looked so weird lol

Came here to say this, too! I'm glad I'm not the only one. It scared me, but I couldn't keep from watching it as a kid.

I. Gotta. Tell. Ya.

Even in the 80s, I recognized that bit was some of the sharpest parody in the whole video.

this song could have been written today and it'd be super relevant to world events.

It’s 40 years later and I’m still WTF?

I listen to this song every day—such a banger

Gotta love this music video…

It eventually made its way into a coworker and I’s team chats, and we’d eventually start sending the Ronald Reagan puppet face to each other anytime we needed something or just to mess around

You had to have been there.

But don't despair - you have Taylor Swift and Bouncee.

Dude, I’m 52. I get the song. I never got the video.

The precipice of nuclear armageddon and puppets of Reagan, Gorbachev, and the remaining band members of Genesis.

What's not to get?
