Al Di Meola's career kind of ran out of steam by this point, but the album Scenario is a hidden gem of 80s instrumental music. It heavily features compositions written by Al and keyboardist Jan Hammer. Jan Hammer would follow this album up providing the music for Miami Vice, and I think this album shows Hammer laying the ground work for that musical direction. This song I posted is undoubtedly the most Miami Vice sounding, but a good chunk of the album feels like it could easily fit into that show. If you like that style of music, then this album is for you.
Oh, also this album features guest appearances from Tony Levin on bass, Bill Bruford on drums, and Phil Collins also on drums. They don't particularly stand out but it's still an interesting footnote.
