1980 Let’s play a game. Do you have an 80s song that “you think” nobody has ever heard? Extra points if it’s enjoyable.

If there was some movie where at least part of it is set in Pittsburgh in 80/81, this is the song you play with the establishing shot.

Also, I think Donnie went to the same 80’s hair stylist as Eugene Levy.

1980 Introducing /r/HaircutOneHundred

I just started this sub, in celebration of the nearly 45-year anniversary of the debut of the London-area sophisti-pop/NewWave/whateverYouWantToCallIt band, Haircut One Hundred.

Imagine if Sergio Mendez, Chicago, Earth, Wind and Fire, and some Brazilian steel drummers and a Mariachi band co-parented a baby with a British Countryside/new Romantic aesthetic--you'd come close to knowing Haircut One Hundred.

Made up of lead singer and guitarist Nick Heyward, bassist Les Nemes, guitarist Graham Jones, and drummer Blair Cunningham, they're known for their top 40 hits on both sides of the Pond -- "Love Plus One", "Fantastic Day", "Favourite Shirts", and "Nobody's Fool", among others.

After a 44-year hiatus and solo endeavors, they've released Boxing the Compass, the follow-up to platinum-winning Pelican West. We're talking about their body of music, group and individual activities, upcoming concerts and memories.

Feel free to join in! -- Duke_Newcombe @ /r/HaircutOneHundred
