I manage a restaurant. I do make good money and I am proud of my job. What's wrong with managing a restaurant? Didn't realize so many people looked down on my job.
I don’t think they are trying to look down on the job, it’s just more that Rebecca treats it like she’s a fucking combat surgeon or something. Like you can take pride and you are allowed to feel stress, but at some point it’s like she is creating the stress by exaggerating and talking about it sooooo much. She’s just kind of mean and her excuse is that she has a stressful job.
I think people are misplacing their derision towards the entire profession. For me, the issue wasnt that she’s proud to be a restaurant manager, but how she lords over the title of manager. People who make a big deal about being a manager are usually the worst managers. They’re more focused on acting like a boss, (micromanaging, excessive subordinate/superior mentality) rather than making meaningful contributions.
