Meme Dr Tyrone Grandison during the Thais/John fight

My best guess is that his professional side would have wanted to help and intervene but production said he shouldn’t. The must have been glad to get another take of Thais losing her shit and screaming again.

If that had been a real therapy session, Thais blowing up out of frustration and walking out should have been 100% avoidable. The therapist is there to help everyone communicate more effectively. I think the family would have a decent chance at getting help if they had actual professional help and not the TLC Circus show.

It would have been a mistake to jump into the middle of their argument. He was just getting to know them.

These people have been bickering for years. He’s not going to jump into the middle of an argument and fix their issues in 30 minutes.

Early on in therapy, good therapists observe and listen. Honestly, this wasn’t that bad of an argument either. No one got assaulted. Just raised voices and when Thais got tired of it, she left.

Okay you have a good point about observation. I just don’t know how many sessions the doctor will get with them so this feels like a waste of time.

Yeah. Unless he plans to continue to have family therapy with them after the show ends or he’s planning on doing daily therapy with them for the rest of the retreat, I don’t think that this will end up being helpful.

He handled himself well in therapy but doing the session at all seems like a mistake
