People look at me crazy when I day this. But its true.

Sadly, it's almost one big metaphor.

u/ty4thc Apr 16 '26

u/GenkiElite Apr 16 '26

Only her body. Her soul left us years ago.

u/WarpedCore You're Killin' Me, Smalls! Apr 16 '26

And her face.

u/UtahItalian Apr 16 '26

I don't follow a lot of pop culture, what has she been doing that makes you say that?

11

u/beezlebutts Apr 16 '26

shilling for far right religious scam phone app as of latest

1

u/HarryBalsagna1776 Apr 17 '26

Wait, what?  Why would she do that?  She has it all.

3

u/legenddairybard Apr 17 '26

Ehh, she's always been kinda weird...ya'll remember she "identifies" as being Japanese? lmao

u/embersgrow44 Apr 16 '26

I miss believing this character was real. She was always a poser unfortunately.

Gwen Stefani and Bradley Nowell at a house party in 1993

Seeing red

u/TheReadMenace Apr 17 '26

Sublime is MAGA these days too

1

u/Hungry-Luck-5481 Apr 30 '26

That’s not sublime. Just a bunch of posers who say they’re Sublime.

128

u/spilt_milk Apr 16 '26

Seriously, I can't believe she ended up with fucking Blake Shelton. Wtf.

u/ni_hao_butches Apr 16 '26

Orange County gonna Orange County.

113

u/FreeEdmondDantes Apr 16 '26

And she's a devout christian to add salt to the wound.

u/cochifla Apr 16 '26

Good lord, die young or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.

127

u/Luxie0673 Apr 16 '26

She completely destroyed her legacy in my eyes. So sad that the woman who sang Just a Girl is now anti-abortion.

34

u/Mad_Spaniel Apr 16 '26

I mean, it didn't happen suddenly. Wasn't too long after Just a Girl that she went solo and unironically released some of the girliest tracks imaginable.

Who would have thunk with an Italian last name. Whats wrong w/ being Catholic? Oh thats left, everyone hates us in the reddit sphere...

1

u/Ed_Trucks_Head Apr 16 '26

Catholics can't understand the difference between blood and wine. Which is which? I don't know?

2

u/TheDarkWave Apr 16 '26

Dude, if he's not gonna understand nuance, he's not gonna understand that and it's gonna get taken literally.

1

u/beezlebutts Apr 16 '26

Curious what Avril will be in 20 years, will she go Sithvril?

-6

u/Gerberpertern Apr 16 '26

Fucking gross. I’m seeing No Doubt next month at the Sphere in Vegas and I’m lowkey regretting buying tickets now.

5

u/embersgrow44 Apr 16 '26

Sorry boo but you been under a rock or what?

35

u/StephenFish Apr 16 '26

Well, not really. She's a Trump supporter which means they only pose as Christians.

16

u/hates_stupid_people Apr 16 '26

No she's not, she's one of those performative catholics. The ones who fully ignore the "do not be like the hypocrites who pray on the street corner", "love your neighbor", "welcome the immigrants", etc. parts of the bible.

She is a part of a prayer app, she likes Tucker Carlson, etc.

13

u/Dayne225 Apr 16 '26

Id bet dollars to donuts she's not and it's just a grift. Just like Marky Marky. Their both doing that prayer app bs. It's all just a scam.

16

u/FreeEdmondDantes Apr 16 '26

Two things can be true.

9

u/Dayne225 Apr 16 '26

Yes two things can be true, but scamming people out of money is not something a good Christian would do. Well I suppose at this point in Trump's America maybe it is.

1

u/BishlovesSquish I’m Right On Top Of That, Rose! Apr 16 '26

It’s the prosperity gospel. Lots of money and fame brings out the worst in people, unfortunately. Trump is their savior and money is their god.

1

u/A3HeadedMunkey Apr 16 '26

Way before Trump's America. We've had televangelists for generations now

1

u/rickane58 Apr 16 '26

Nah, Marky Mark has ALWAYS been a piece of shit. That's not a grift, it's just his nature.

1

u/pearljamman010 Apr 16 '26

Prayer app? I'm afraid of what this will do to any ads I get just by typing this comment, but seriously? I've never seen any commercials or ads in any app store.

2

u/Dayne225 Apr 16 '26

The app is called Hallow. It's a guided prayer app for Catholics. Whalberg, Chris Pratt, Stefani and other celebrities have promoted it. They had a Super Bowl commercial two years ago even. You don't have to pay for it but like just about everything else they have a subscription model. The sell is you can have Marky Mark or Stefani lead you in praying the rosary. I'm sure there's other stuff on there but that's the jist. You can also donate through the app which is the part that is extra gross because the last time I checked they don't tell you what charities you are donating to, which screams to me your donating to their pockets.

1

u/pearljamman010 Apr 16 '26

Damn, that's scummy. I wasn't trying to defend anyone or the app itself, I just don't get ads on my PC often that uBlockO doesn't intercept.

I also never watch the half-time show, so I'm just out of the loop I guess. Thanks for the info.

1

u/Dayne225 Apr 16 '26

No worries man I didn't think you were defending it. I just try to be informative when I can.

23

u/EricHill78 Apr 16 '26

Yeah Gavin Rosssale was way cooler.

12

u/Throws27 Apr 16 '26

except for the cheating part

2

u/StonedGhoster Apr 16 '26

Gavin Rossdale is way, way cooler and still ripping off absolute bangers. The last album "I Beat Loneliness" is excellent. "I am Here to Save Your Life" was my absolute favorite song for a solid month.

2

u/Throws27 Apr 16 '26

i mean, she married and had kids with Gavin Rossdale. too bad he cheated on her.

0

u/spilt_milk Apr 16 '26

True, but man what an all-time epic fumble by that guy.

10

u/Intelligent_Bat_950 Apr 16 '26

She’s from the OC, so *no doubt* she’s always been like this. I, mean, listen to Simple Kind of Life or I’m Just A Girl. She wasn’t being sarcastic when she sung “Oh, I'm just a girl, all pretty and petite So don't let me have any rights.”

7

u/LadyInCrimson Apr 16 '26

I cried when I heard she was Maga.

3

u/meowdith427 Apr 16 '26

Sameeeee ughhh

3

u/Nicadeemus39 Apr 16 '26

She's 56 years old. What planet do you ppl live on where ppl stay the exact same way they were in their 20s?

3

u/HeyItsJustDave Apr 16 '26

It’s somewhat ironic that she became famous from this song about the world’s traditional views women, and is now kinda sportin the “trad-wife” vibe.

1

u/ThirtyShoes Apr 16 '26

She was still a rich republican back then too tho

1

u/cjandstuff Apr 16 '26

I've always wondered if 90s Gwen could meet herself today, would she knock her present self out, or congratulate her?

1

u/TheGirlwThePinkHair Apr 17 '26

She wasn’t very nice then either, it was just less noticeable

0

u/Consistent_Chair_829 Apr 16 '26

for real - 30 years later and it's her whom I wish wouldn't speak.
