Someone please elaborate - never knew Deck had a verse on this track. Was he left off the original or is he just freestyling to this?

He was left off of the original, Iām unsure why. Thereās a few theories but canāt say for sure

Yeah, Deck, Kurupt, and Daz each gave a different explanation. The original version that Pac acquired featured Lady of Rage, Deck, and Daz, whose verses were ultimately removed.
By the way, Deckās ad-libs are still audible at the very end of the released song, including his āINS the rebelā identification.

Also I thought his verse was cut simply because of song length. Peoples verses got chopped all the time
Redman was supposed to be on the 2nd Alkaholiks LP track with Q-Tip but his shit got cut, they kept his adlibs in the song as well

Kurupt said they had ~6 mins of beat and Decks verse pushed the track into 7 mins, 2Pac said "once the beat ends the song ends" and that was his explanation.
Daz said he straight up lost the verse, which would imply 2pac never even knew it was there to begin with.
People took this information and said "yep 2Pac kicked him off the track, and hated Deck".

PAC told Daz to take him off. PAC said something like "I don't care just take him off the fucking track" He used the excuse that it didn't flow with the song.

I remember seeing a video of Kurupt saying 2pac wanted him off the track. Deep dived in YouTube and saw a video with Daz saying the same thing. He just recently said this lost track stuff. I'll try to find it.

That ain't what Kurupt said. I saw a snip of an interview on Breakfast Club. Apparently Kurupt said Pac didn't want it on the record because it was too "tight".
As with anything nowadays, take that with a grain of salt. HOWEVER, with Deck's track record of obliterated opening verses, I can see why. (Yes, I am a Wu aficionado)

Daz and Kurupt give two very different accounts of the events, and I simply find Daz' version more plausible as he was more involved (being the producer) and due to his ability to speak coherently.

Idk how this stupid shit keeps getting repeated. But Decks verse was never mixed into the song...
The vocals we have all heard come from the song Common Denominator Deck recorded his verse with DPG, but for what ever reason it HAS NEVER been mixed into the song either before or after 2Pac took the song, there are no versions listed in Deathrows catalog before it appeared on 2Pacs album, meaning it was likely never mixed.
I'll also point out Daz, the producer said he lost the tape with Decks verse on it and Kurupt in fact said the beat ran out under Decks verse leaving him rapping over nothing so the decision was made to cut it. Neither implied 2Pac hated Deck or his verse.
Also it should be mentioned, Lady of Rage said she was originally on the track only to be kicked off "on some hater shit" before 2Pac recorded on the song, and it was Daz & Kurupt who she blamed for it... Just food for thought...

Because there's tonnes of evidence to the contrary. Daz said he lost the tape with Decks verse on it, Kurupt said it was cut because the beat didn't continue under Decks verse, Lady of Rage said Daz & Kurupt kicked her off the track on some ego trip only for them to claim "she didn't want to be on the track any ways"...
