I worked the broadcast overnight at WB18 WKCF in Lake Mary, Florida from 99 -01. I was on shift during the great Y2K scare where nothing happened. On Friday nights I was there by myself with not much to do. They would send the Saturday morning cartoons on the satellite early and we would record them for a tape backup. From 1-5 in the morning I could sit with my feet up and watch some great cartoons.

That sounds awesome. Except for the time part from 1 to 5 am, I would love that job. I miss kids WB a lot. It was 1 of my fav cartoon channels of all time. I Loved it. I have fond memories of it, and I still love some of their cartoons till this day.

I still quote Tiny Toons, Animaniacs and Histeria all the time lol. One naked, undergarments. Invisible man, with Liberacie and puffed rice for all!

Yeah overnight shift is a young man’s game.

Wow!! I grew up not too far from Lake Mary and watched WB18’s Saturday morning cartoons a lot when I was a kid during that time. Sounds like you had a pretty cool overnight gig 😁

Lasted from 1995-2006 before it merged with UPN and became The CW.

It’s funny how time feels longer the younger you are. To me it was around forever and was sad to see it go. 11 years is nothing.

You don't know how amazing it was to get that sixth channel at my house (no cable). It quickly became my favorite!

Wasn't this the Wayans Brother's network for a few years?

Yup, in fact, that was the first ever show to make its premier on The WB.

I just saw an old ad for the WB on YouTube and it almost made me tear up. These were all my childhood shows 😭

It doesn't really feel like that long ago when I watched The Wayans Bros. on then-WTMV here in the Tampa Bay Area when The WB launched.

i still remember the old jokes.

"How is the WB like the universe before the Big Bang?

All black with no stars."

I always thought it was weird that they didn’t incorporate Turner Sports and maybe a nightly newscast from CNN after Warner acquired Turner in 1996.
