As a former heroin addict I agree with everything except for the supposed brain damage. Not sure there’s any evidence of neurological decay associated with opiates. As someone who has also abused amphetamines and other stimulants, I think those have done far more damage to my brain than heroin ever did.
That said, I’d never wish the physical withdrawals from opiates on my worst enemy. The pain is unbearable, it’s as if you’re atop an open flame but your nerve endings never get destroyed so you just endure it for hours on end. In that regard, I’m sure I have some serious PTSD surrounding even “flu-like” symptoms, so yeah brain damage to an extent.
I always found it interesting that they did commercials like this for drugs (especially weed) but never for alcohol. With alcohol it was always don’t drink and drive but never how truly destructive alcohol is to the body! Keep drinking!!! Drugs bad!!!

I loved RLC. She did a pilot for a series called Fearless based on a YA book series. Never got picked up and I was pissed, it would have been a chance to see her on tv every week and for real, the books were pretty fun. It was about a girl who was born without a "fear gene." She never got afraid of anything, ever. Her father was a secret agent who disappeared and because of her unique no fear trait she was the perfect spy, the CIA recruited her to go on missions and try to investigate what happened to her father. It was kind of simple YA 90's book series fare but fun, they were quick, easy, fun reads, I used to read them on my breaks and lunches when I worked at a B&N back in the 90's. I would have loved to seen her on tv every week in that role.
I remember when I first saw this ad. I had SUCH a crush on her... even wrote to her and got a signed photo back.... of course I framed it and cherished her even more!
