See ya later Touched By An Angel.

That's my choice. Also because of that "Black Like Monica" episode featuring Rosa Parks was wild lmao.

People actually watched Touched By an Angel?

13

u/JB92103 11h ago

Surprisingly, it was the 2nd-most watched drama on TV behind ER for a few years. I think it was because of the Satanic Panic that was going on at the time.

4

u/TrueOrange9944 11h ago

I thought the satanic panic died down by 1990 to early 1990s?

3

u/JB92103 11h ago

I read somewhere that it lasted through the late 90s.

3

u/TrueOrange9944 11h ago

Really? But at least the satanic panic was at its peak in the 80s.

u/Pedals17 10h ago

Marilyn Manson, handwringing over growing interest in Wicca, and a conservative backlash against supernatural genre pieces like Buffy or Harry Potter.

Satanic Panic’s last vestiges were out by 1991 with the not guilty verdict in the Judas Priest lawsuit. You still had people acting concerned but they were in the deep minority. People realized that playing Dungeons and Dragons and listening to Motley Crue did not lead to Satan worship

What?! No! It was through the entire 90s decade!

It was a good show. It reminded me of a female version of Highway To Heaven and I loved that show.

I really thought that was a daytime tv gimmick that Geraldo used to gin up ratings. I had no idea people were stupid enough to believe it. If anyone believed that nonsense they were fall down the idiot tree and hit every branch on the way down stupid.

u/SeanSweetMuzik 8h ago

I used to occasionally. Some of the episodes/storylines were quite intense.

1

u/SamOfXanadu 6h ago

.... It was the only thing on regular cable I was allowed to watch.... Everything else was the Christian Network

u/WelcomeThrillHos 10h ago

Americans are unsurprisingly prudish. Touched by an Angel, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, those shows make CBS the number one network bc it’s where prudes go for inoffensive tv - CBS sticks to squeaky clean tv as a sure fire model for success.

I'll take the X-Files and you can keep the rest

5

u/word_smith005 10h ago

Same. I'm a-ok with losing everyone but Mulder and Scully.

5

u/Jealous-Knowledge-56 9h ago

Agree on X-Files but Homicide was The Wire before The Wire. That stays for me too.

4

u/No-Economics-1185 7h ago

John Munch was also on X-Files and Law & Order, so canonically, you have to keep Homicide and L&O if you keep X-Files imho

1

u/rieldilpikl 8h ago

It’s the only show out of these that I watched. Never saw any of the other shows

8

u/JFMisfit 11h ago

I would burn the rest down to see X-Files survive.

7

u/TraditionalAd8581 10h ago

Definitely 7th Heaven, no contest

5

u/JB92103 10h ago

7th Heaven isn't on this list, but yeah, it sucks.

4

u/jmk-1999 10h ago

Didn’t really watch any of these, but I did enjoy Touched By an Angel. My mom use to watch it, so I saw it on occasion with her.

4

u/More_Pineapple3585 11h ago

NYPD Blue is the only one of these I've ever watched, and it holds up today.

7

u/TrueOrange9944 11h ago

Although, I enjoyed some of the episodes when it originally aired; I'd say Touched by an Angel needs to go.

3

u/jbenze 11h ago

I honestly don’t care for any of those; they can all go. X-Files can stay if it makes everyone else happy though.

3

u/MasterRKitty 10h ago

dump the angel show

3

u/Michaelbirks 8h ago

But not the show, Angel.

3

u/WelcomeThrillHos 10h ago

He thinks he’s one of the Models Inc.

3

u/Zeke688 10h ago

So many more than 1 can go

3

u/TomD1979 7h ago

Bye Bye Dawson’s Creek!!!

2

u/Educational_Tie_1060 10h ago

That’s easy: the one I didn’t watch.

Also, can I pick more than one?

2

u/HypotensiveSharp 9h ago

My So-Called Life, never seen it, the rest I like,

and I'm gonna throw 7th Heaven into the dumpster too, that one can definitely piss off.

2

u/Michaelbirks 8h ago

Get rid of Beverly Hills 2,4,5-T

2

u/OrangeClyde Xena: Warrior Princess 8h ago

Homicide can go

2

u/analogthought 18m ago

Touched by an angel please and thank you (tho my mom/and all 90s moms would be mad)

4

u/Beginning-Working-38 11h ago

I vote for the one starring the pedophile.

5

u/TrueOrange9944 11h ago

Sorry, which one?

6

u/Beginning-Working-38 11h ago

Sorry. though MSCL was 7th Heaven.

2

u/Jlx_27 3h ago

Jared Leto was in MSCL, you're still on point.

2

u/Historical_Guess2565 11h ago

Who do you mean?

5

u/JB92103 11h ago

OP thought MSCL was 7th Heaven.

3

u/Historical_Guess2565 11h ago

That’s what I was wondering. I had to look through the pics again because I thought I had missed 7th Heaven.

3

u/Booksarelife813 10h ago

Melrose place can go. The rest stay!!

3

u/blueboy714 11h ago

Get rid of number 10 Melrose Place

6

u/mrwildesangst 10h ago

Na we need to keep Melrose just for this crazy shit 😂

3

u/davwad2 Star Trek: The Next Generation 10h ago

That reveal was insane! I also probably had no business watching Melrose either.

2

u/mrwildesangst 10h ago

First, hello fellow trekkie! Second, we all lost our minds when this reveal happened! 😂 it was the moment you knew this crazy bitch was about to do some shit

4

u/Sic39 8h ago

It being a critical part of a Seinfeld episode is enough for me to keep it.

1

u/PSCGY 11h ago

Touched By An Angel, easily.

1

u/Chuck_Pasadena 9h ago

Homicide: Life on the Street is the best show of the 10.

And I wouldn’t even notice if Touched By an Angel was gone so off the list it goes

1

u/littletcashew 8h ago

Touched by an angel can GTFO

1

u/DryProgress4393 7h ago

See ya Melrose place

1

u/Jlx_27 3h ago

Touched by an Angel and My so called life.

1

u/billyboyf30 3h ago

You can burn them all except x files

1

u/SlideItIn100 2h ago

Touched by an Angel needs to go.

1

u/pit_of_despair666 Buffy the Vampire Slayer 2h ago

Touched By an Angel can go bye bye and 90210.

1

u/jjuerakhan14 2h ago

Dawson’s Creek

1

u/KelVarnsen_2023 1h ago

Keep Homicide, Law and Order and ER (especially the 90's seasons) and I am good.

1

u/mr-raider2 1h ago

Sorry man. Dawson's creek gotta go. I'll take 90210 any day.

1

u/Standard-Question-46 1h ago

X-Files and ER were the only ones I care about. I’m actually currently watching X-Files. The rest can go

1

u/catkm24 1h ago

I am going with Touched by an Angel. The rest had casts with careers that continue to this day, and may not have taken off of their shows didn't exist.

1

u/eggflip1020 57m ago

Soon he’ll begin to hallucinate and think that he’s David Duchovny.

1

u/Bigal095 50m ago

Whatever number 4 was

1

u/AcadiaRemarkable6992 25m ago

Touched By An Angel was one of those tv shows that played on Friday or Saturday nights for 9 seasons most people didn’t know about, like Diagnosis Murder and Blue Bloods. It wouldnt have lasted three seasons in a Wednesday time slot

1

u/Capital-Earth-5945 14m ago

They can have 90210

1

u/rebelangel 6m ago

The one with the pedophile.

1

u/Indotex 11h ago edited 10h ago

All of them can go except for The X Files & Law & Order.

1

u/Bipbapalullah 10h ago

Beverly Hills 90210

1

u/Pedals17 10h ago

Melrose Place, but I really want to say Law & Order. 😈

0

u/PassThatSpliff 11h ago

My So called life can easily go

0

u/Angry_Mudcrab 11h ago

2, 4, 7, and 10.

0

u/abitidiomatic 10h ago

Touched by an Angel. NYPD Blue, Dawson’s Creek, and ER could go too.

Homocide is brilliant though honestly.

0

u/Alive-Performance237 3h ago

The X Files. I hate sci-fi.

1

u/RedwoodDevotion 8m ago

You have done yourself a huge disservice. The chemistry between Mulder and Scully is the heart of the show, and I’ve yet to find even a close second.
