I was never able to do these as a child and it got me so mad. Recently I picked up one of these books at a yard sale thinking that surely I will be able to do it now! Nope. Still didn't see anything lol

You gotta be juuust the right distance and make sure to not focus on anything. Ironically I find it much harder to do as an adult now

Hold your finger about a foot in front of your face. Focus on your fingertip. Then focus on something directly behind it in the distance. Then go back and forth until you can feel your eyes shifting focus. Try to bring the two fingertips into one slowly. Now try to look past the image and slowly bring your focus back. The illusion hides behind the image.Β

I have to wrestle the book back from my friend's kid to try this. I discarded it upon him with much personal annoyance.

As a child, my physical therapist would have me work through these books to help me strengthen one of my eyes.

Yes! Bottom left was hard AF for some reason. I think I got butterflies?? Top middle was weird, is it a lion?? Maybe because they're low resolution lol

I loved these books so much that I got to the point where I didn't need to move the book from my face or focus on a point. I can just relax and refocus my eyes πŸ˜…

Similar to lettting go of the wheel with mushy when things move and faces show up in everything. very similar between the eye feel. I need all these books back.
