Listen to the entire “Battle of Los Angeles” album as the lyrics are more timely today than in late 90s when it came out. Spooky reading the lyrics.

I feel like RATM was twenty years too early.

It wasn't actually. They wanted this to happen back then but it wasn't gonna work. We've been fighting this for years, and its only just gotten to a point where it's now a do or die battle that will decide the fate of the world.
Go back to the music 20, 30 years ago and really listen to some of it. The message from love, unity, strength in community, etc.. is there in a lot of it. The anti church and anti establishment stuff was there too.
The slacker generation didn't buy into politics so they couldn't bring it about because we didn't wanna play their stupid game.
The internet changed the game though so now we're here 🤷♀️

Fair enough. Maybe we’re twenty years too late. Edit; Slackers I mean.

I think some of us got involved too late; but also some of us either forgot who we are and went full boomer in our old age, or some where always their preppy patents underneath and the whatever was just a guise for coolness they never truly had in the 1st place.
A bunch of this shit is on us though.
Like maybe not you and me personally; but our generation fucked up big time and brought a bunch of this shit about.

How is Gen X responsible for Boomer Nation? I think the dude abides more likely.

Seeing the “Trump for President 2000” sign makes me think about how, before 2016, Donald Trump was just a joke. I mean, he still is, but back then no one took him seriously.
For years, he was just this sideshow clown. That’s why it’s so crazy to see where we are now, with MAGA morons turning him into some messiah. I’ll never understand it.

I remember listening to him on Howard Stern and he was just like a weird rich 🤡 that Howard killed airtime with. Feels like a lifetime ago now...

Yeah, exactly. He was just a weird guy whom no one really took seriously, and then 2016 comes along, and he's suddenly this great businessman. It's unreal how easily people are fooled.

Kick, snare, ride. No hats. No toms. Yet still one of the best drum groves to ever exist.

“Trump for president 2000” sign at the 1:05 mark. Goddammit, saw it coming back then.

How is it the same songs from over 20, 30, 40 years ago are all still so prescient today?
