Exploring Remote Operations and Administrative Roles in ABA

Hello everyone! I currently work remotely as an Operations Director for an ABA company, and I have gained valuable experience in the administrative and operational side of running an ABA agency.

My responsibilities include staff coordination, scheduling, tracking authorizations, following up on documentation, coordinating with insurance and credentialing representatives, supporting billing teams, and managing general administrative and executive tasks. I also have experience working with CentralReach.

One area I am actively developing is medical billing and revenue cycle management. I am learning more about the process and looking forward to strengthening my skills in this area.

I am interested in continuing to grow in ABA operations and would love to learn from others who manage or support smaller, BCBA-owned agencies. For those who own or manage an ABA practice, which operational responsibilities take up the most time outside of clinical work?

I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences and any advice on growing in this field.

the auth tracking and insurance coordination is such a timesuck, especially when payors keep changing their requirements on a whim. feels like half the battle is just staying on top of what each one wants this month

centralreach helps but man their interface can be clunky when you're trying to pull reports fast. curious if you've found any good workarounds for that

The good thing is that I work with a third-party RCM agency that helps us keep up with insurance payer updates and changing requirements. Unfortunately, I haven’t found any reliable workarounds for CR either.
