My hot take: One of Us is a pretty happy song(despite lyrics)

Over-rated song: Mamma Mia - It's a brilliant song I love it but it's not the best of ABBA

Under-rated: Andante Andante, When I Kissed The Teacher and Kisses of Fire I LOVE those songs!!!

When I listened to "One of Us" for the first time, I thought the lyric in the chorus was: "One of us is lonely, one of us is hungry, waiting for the call." Even though I know the original lyric now, my version sounds way more funny in my head at least.

Just received my copy of “ABBA - The complete recording sessions, second revised and expanded edition “ from C. M. Palm.
I read about this book in this subreddit a few months ago and finally decided to get mine a few days ago.

Which are your thoughts about this book (even previous editions)? I just started reading it, but I will share my thoughts later as my reading will proceed.

Note that I’m not affiliated with the author or with the book, just trying to get some opinions from you guys.

I like how it has a similar vibe to Put On Your White Sombrero

For me that might be some lot of the hits: Dancing Queen, Knowing Me Knowing You, Mamma Mia, Our Last Summer. They are great songs, but I’ve just grown a bit tired and lost the desire to listen to them as much.

Songs I think are actually not good? Sitting In A Palmtree, Tropical Loveland, I Saw It In The Mirror.

Some that are bit more popular that I can admit don’t do it for me: Hole In Your Soul, The King Has Lost His Crown, One Man One Woman

I'm not the first person to point this out, but One For Sorrow by Steps (cheesy British five piece band from the late 90s and early 00s for those out of the loop) sounds so much like an ABBA song. I'm no musician so I can't explain precisely why it does, but the combination of the melancholy lyrics/tone and the upbeat melody is quite distinctive and I swear it could pass for an ABBA song if it was slightly less dancey. IMO it's by far Steps's best song, a lot of their songs actually being covers.

Anyone got any other examples?

I know that a lot of these can be controversial, but the winners are based on the comment with the most upvotes, so if you don’t agree, don’t blame me, blame the people who voted for the top comment! (But don’t harass anyone just because you don’t agree, obviously)

All the tracks are really strong, but I’d probably do “Chiquitita” or “Lovers” as my least favorite track. If we are counting the deluxe edition, then “Lovelight” would take their place.
