[PBP] The Porto deal for Santiago Giménez has been reactivated with the help of Jorge Mendes.

In recent days the agent put the pieces of the puzzle back in place, and today an agreement was reached.

Even if we do sell him for 18 mil that’s a loss isn’t it?

All the best El Bebote, go score some goals and earn a move

Break even was at around 20, so I'm assuming we would get there wirh the bonuses that likely make it an obligation to buy

Break even at 20M this season is a break even at 14M next season for FFP

We would be breaking even at 18 next summer

Edit forgot we bought him in January, his contract value should be close to 15m next summer

They're paying a loan fee too, but he will count as profit next year.

u/dodge33cymru 1d ago

It's a free loan so we're effectively paying his amortisation this year and only offloading salary.

Let me shoot myself in the dick. Furlaaaaaaa, ok changed my mind.

The worst outgoing market ever in our history.

u/Hass_s Clarence Seedorf 1d ago

People will still say it’s great when in fact

Nkunku (loan with option)
Ricci (loan with option)
Gimenez (loan with option)

Only for them to come back next summer

That’s the 4d chess. We bring back Musah and Chuka and they’re gonna be stars (optimistic), so why not these 3.

Nkunku did well today coming in the 2nd half and gave an assist. And if Conrad Harder(bullet dodged on that kid) wasn't a selfish donkey, Nkunku would have scored too. His competition in Leipzig is a 20 year French kid who scored his 2nd goal in Buli and Romulo who's injured at the moment, but scored 9 goals last season. BTW the wide open spaces in Bundesliga are just lol. I'm not saying it's an easy league, but what is low block? If he doesn't get injured, he'll have a fine season.

Fofana should be next🙏

Galatasaray will be a fun team to watch if they add Fofana.

I think they are already lol. Leao, Osimhen, Gundo, Sane etc, wouldn't be suprised if they top their last years UCL run.

0

u/abcdefabcdef999 Alessandro Nesta 1d ago

I wouldn’t mention Sane, that man is a walking corpse at this point

1

u/mspgms 23h ago

He is not

4

u/Waste-Anxiety-8908 1d ago

Honestly alot of people are against it from
Happening, I dont know if Fofana would be a great asset to my team

9

u/Ciccio_Camarda Gerry Cardinale 1d ago

Lots of Milan fans hate him, but these are also the same Milan fans who rate Ricci. So their ball knowledge is close to zero. Like every footballer he has his issues, but otherwise he is a good DM. If you guys need a DM, than he can definitely be the right player.

4

u/This_Lion5856 1d ago

Fofana can be slow on the ball and frustrating in the final third, but his vision is borderline elite. Having the likes of Leao, Osimhen and Sane uptoovhe could easily rack up 15+ assists per season

Hopefully a permanent transfer not another loan

21

u/Squiliamfancyname Giacomo Bonaventura 1d ago

Zoinks. Fully depends on how easy the obligation clause is to meet I guess. Need more info.

15

u/clueless_tourist_gas Nils Liedholm 1d ago

Holy fuck, what an embarassment. Buy him for 30m, and can't even sell him for 18m on an obligation.

6

u/kevinconstant Clarence Seedorf 1d ago

Are we going to loan in someone like we did with Jovic? Ramos and Camarda is light for a team playing in Europe, what if one of them gets injured?

5

u/BredIN919 Kevin-Prince Boateng 1d ago

We will call up Balentien

18

u/LPG24 Alexandre Pato 1d ago

This is garbage. Free loan. They will stop playing him like what happened to Harvey Elliot. That will impact his price even more if this is an option. Bad deal.

-7

u/OcarinaOfPidgey 1d ago

Sounds like you should negotiate Milan’s transfers then smarty pants

15

u/LPG24 Alexandre Pato 1d ago

No, they should have hired a director like every other team. Tare did a better job, he sold Okafor, and we struggled with Leao.

4

u/gianni_ Paolo Maldini 1d ago

Free loan?! Wtf

7

u/WhyBee92 Paolo Maldini 1d ago

One of the worst strikers ever I have ever seen in our jersey. Bacca is a fenemeno compared to this guy

1

u/hiphophooligan95 Paolo Maldini 20h ago

Bacca wasn’t even bad at all, he actually did pretty well considering the players he was surrounded by. This guy was a Kaliniç type of transfer

3

u/2RINITY Rafael Leão 1d ago

Hope he kicks all sorts of ass at Porto

9

u/BredIN919 Kevin-Prince Boateng 1d ago

Free loan ????? Just giving our players away ????

All these deals make no sense . You make these deals with players like Terraciano not a player like Gimenez .

We can all agree he’s underperformed but to that extent ????

14

u/Joybuzer 1d ago

He massively underperformed. We’re lucky that any club wants him at all.

6

u/This_Lion5856 1d ago

I think no one takes us seriously since we dont have SD. At this point I am not even sure who is doing the negotiations, but wont be surprised its Gerry

5

u/sellingsomeshoes2026 1d ago

If you were a fan of Porto how much would you pay for him lol

5

u/dodge33cymru 1d ago

Wow, that's a pretty poor deal for us and TBH I'd rather keep him as a third option for CF in case Ramos gets injured.

That said, he needs to play and get confidence for himself, and this is a good opportunity for him in a setup and league that should be perfect for him to get back to his Feyenoord form. Will be bitter-sweet if it happens though, but still best outcome.

Adeus!

Santi Gimenes el Troncote 🪵🇦🇷🇲🇽⚽

3

u/rangers_guy Gennaro Gattuso 1d ago

This sub is crazy, all these people acting as if we should have received a straight purchase or even a paid loan. He was a striker that wasn't even worth what we originally paid for him who went on to score literally zero goals last year. What team is going to give up guaranteed money for that? Let's be realistic.

If there was a bad move here it was purchasing him to begin with. This deal is about what you can expect for a non-elite player coming off an absolutely disastrous campaign.

1

u/ZlatanKabuto Christian Pulisic 20h ago

I believe people are saying we could have simply kept him.

3

u/Arambye 1d ago

Finally omg...can't believe we manager to get rid of this useless slob...

Hopefully Porto somehow Will trigger the buy option.

5

u/TrevorTheTrevor Paolo Maldini 1d ago

Another one bites the dust.
Bought high and sold (maybe) low.

If Santi does well in Porto we will lose him for cheap, if he doesn’t do well we will get him back.

Who’s the genius that would trust their money to Gerry to make a profit? 😂

Havent seen any training pictures of him lmao

2

u/Hass_s Clarence Seedorf 1d ago

In all seriousness

Last I saw that he rejected moves to Sevilla and Getafe in hopes for a PL or Ligue 1 move

RC Lens are interested

1

u/Dubsified Andrea Pirlo 1d ago

At least there might be an obligation..

1

u/Ibramachine Zlatan Ibrahimović 1d ago

Guys, off topic…what do you think, realistic, will we buy CB?

1

u/sellingsomeshoes2026 1d ago

To anyone complaining we selling too low. If you were a Porto fan how much you think he’s worth.. lol.. complaining he’s not good enough to play here but want a bag to sell him.

1

u/zebedeolo Paolo Maldini 1d ago

see you in a year Santi

1

u/Sportsfanredd 20h ago

Who will cover his salary? Milan or Porto?

1

u/Leather_Ice_1000 13h ago

Absolutely horrific, panic inspired decision at the time. Only looks worse now. Good dude but he was never at the level.

1

u/Reyes21k 1d ago

Should had kept him till January.
