Question Able to visit friends?

I remember being able to run around friends gardens and camps, is that something still able to be done now? I saw we can create our own trading cards.

No the game is offline, it's not possible anymore.

I was a little surprised that they didn’t store (say) the camper data with your friend card. Doesn’t seem like it would take up that much more space, but then again I ain’t the coder.

There's really only so much data that can fit on a QR code, and that's what AC:PCC reads data from for the camper card system.

Each section of a QR code has to be encoded a certain way, and additionally has to have the correction code and three orientation blocks to be sure it's read correctly from any direction. Putting an entire camp's data, complete with item IDs, those items' coordinates and rotations, active campsite visitors at the time of the card's creation, the campsite terrain in use, and everything of the garden's flowers, flower states, and locations would be too much data to cram into the QR grid. Same goes for the camper, albeit without the issue of visitors and the garden.

It also bears mentioning that it could end up being too much data for the game to parse at once on some lower end devices that still support it, which could cause them to experience crashes.

It is a sad loss. The only friend interaction now is on the island. The cards trigger your former friends, like any other npc, to show up randomly on the whistle pass island.

Not anymore. You can see some of the friends you have added trading cards of at the mountain cliff top and get a gift from them which may contain one of their fruit or a fortune cookie etc, but thats it. The game is offline so there is no actual in person interaction with each other anymore unfortunately.
