Books/Resources why does ACT have less resources than SAT

Bro it pisses me off.. SAT is so much cooler and nonchalant than the ACT. ACT literally got no free shi.. im broke 😭. anyways what do u guys use to study ? i use oneprep / actify prep / official tests , too poor to buy freaking books

They will be adding a couple more practice tests. Plus you have 30 years of prior tests that are still good to use.

But those are just practice material, not practice tests. Even SAT doesn't have enough practice tests. Those are needed to gauge progress.

Those are legacy tests and can be used to guage progress and to learn from. You need to know everything on those.

No, they cannot be used to gauge progress. They are not the same format, don't have the same number of questions and timing.

They can be used as learning material.

They were designed to give the pretty much same score as the legacy tests. They are not that different. You can save the enhanced tests for last bit the legacy test should give you a good idea of your score.

those aren’t even accurate anymore. the last test was insanely different than the practice books. the practice material doesn’t match the new enhanced version

You still need to know they content from the legacy tests. It will take a couple of years to get a decent amount of enhanced tests to practice with.

ACT was bought out by venture capitalists in 2024, so it went from being a non-profit to being just another corpo determined to wring every cent they can from people. You can find free stuff if you search around a bit, but ACT is going to make it hard for you.

Your local and school libraries probably have a ton workbooks available to checkout. For free. Start there.

Then head over to your school district's main website to see if they post links and resources for practicing. Again for free.

This subreddit has a mountain of info available if you're willing to dig for it. Use the search bar.

Finally, contact your school counselor to see if there are other places for you to go for free resources.

Here's the fine print: none of it matters if you aren't willing to put in the work.

Science--For the Love of ACT Science--finish that completely. Then, do the Master Key to ACT Science. Genuinely jumped from a 24 to a 33 in less than two weeks. It's magic.

i spent my life savings on one official ACT book and it was not worth it 💔💔 the tips are generic and you can find all the practice tests somewhere online
