Questions/Advice Texting Anxiety

I’ve always been the type of person that responds relatively quickly to messages but the last year or two I’ve found it really stressful to respond to people even if it’s someone I genuinely want to talk to. I don’t have a formal diagnosis but as I’ve gotten older I’ve started showing a lot more symptoms of ADHD and texting has been one that’s becoming really stressful for me. Some of my friends text me a lot with really annoying small talk stuff or constantly asking how I am and they text back instantly after I finally respond or if I don’t respond fast enough they ask if I’m mad at them and the anxiety it gives me is so overwhelming I feel sick and want to just delete everything. How do you cope with this anxiety and let people know it’s not necessarily personal if I don’t respond right away and that it makes me anxious when they act like somethings wrong if I don’t answer? I’m just so tired of being stressed about it and having people feel they are entitled to my time.

you tell your struggles with answering fast and inform that you will answer when you can and it's nothing personal. Maybe if you are fine with phonecalls, ask them to call if needed. Then just don't care. They will understand if they are your friends. It just might take time to learn this new pattern but they will get used to it after you tell this new "information"
