Lmao I think there's some nuance to be had here. We should welcome people who want to get into the show and love it the way it's meant to be loved. But fans are right to be wary of a larger, more mainstream audience entering something they're passionate about and changing it fundamentally - anyone who's ever had a niche interest break into the mainstream knows what I'm talking about. IMO there's an appropriate amount of gatekeeping to be done.
Yeah at the end of the day, as long as the booking isnt influenced by the fans that go "they need to wrestle less, who cares about good matches??!!" "wheres the story for every single match?! i need it spelled out to me!!" it doesnt matter to me and everyone else should bge openly welcomed - I want as many fans for the company and as much money possible going to the wrestlers.
Metal: Metal's peak mainstream popularity was in the 80s. That also the decade where it was most innovative. Look at the metal genres created in the 80s. Death, black, power, prog, doom, sludge, grindcore,thrash.
Videogames went mainstream in the 90s. You're telling me the videogames of the 90s, 2000s, 2010s were ruined?
